His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Visits the Patrol Training Vessel, Kojima.

On Wednesday, July 1, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the Japanese patrol training vessel, Kojima, docked at Port Hercule in Monaco.

Once a year the Kojima — owned and operated by the Japanese Coast Guard Academy (JCGA) — brings together JCGA cadets to go on a 95-day training cruise around the world.  The purpose of the cruise is to equip the cadets with the “…necessary navigational skills and experience in safety and rescue, to cultivate their adaptability to a life at sea, to train them mentally for life on board ship and to foster in them an open-minded outlook on the world…” according to a press release.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Cheers as the Solar Impulse 2 Makes History.

On Friday, July 3, 2015, the Solar Impulse 2 made aviation history as the solar-powered plane — piloted by Mr. André Borschberg — landed safely at Kalaeloa Airport in Kapolei, Oah’u, Hawai’i.

Meanwhile, back in Monte-Carlo, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco along with dozens of Solar Impulse 2 support staff at the Monaco Mission Control Center erupted in cheers and hi-fives as they learned of the news.

The flight, which departed Nagoya, Japan, on Monday, June 29 took “…117 hours and 52 minutes [to fly over] the Pacific Ocean (a distance of 4,480 miles or 7,200 km), powered by 17,248 solar cells, fully charging its batteries each day to stay aloft at night…” writes the Associated Press. 

The Solar Impulse 2 will remain on the island of Oah’u until sometime next week.  Then, the solar-powered plane will fly to Phoenix, Arizona piloted by Mr. Bertrand Piccard.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Celebrates the 125th Anniversary of the Automobile Club de Monaco.

On Thursday, June 25, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco celebrated the 125th anniversary of the Automobile Club de Monaco at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo.

According to a press release the Grimaldi forum was:

“…transformed for one evening in an Automobile Sport Museum. In the presence of Prince Albert II, the Minister of State Michel Roger and many representatives of the Monégasque Authorities, [the] party brought together nearly 4,000 members especially invited by the President of the ACM, Michel Boeri.”

On June 23, 2015, Their Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were in Palombaggia Beach on the island of Corsica to participate in the event, Water Safety.

Organized by the Centre d’Enseignement et de Formation de Secourisme et de Sauvetage Aquatique 40 (CEFSSA 40) and the Fondation Princesse Charlene de Monaco in collaboration with Mairie de Porto-Vecchio last Tuesday’s event gathered 90 students, ages 7 to 11, to participate in “…planned workshops including basic first aid and raising awareness to the risks associated with the sea, discovery of the marine environment as well as aquatic rescue by using rescue tubes…” according to the Palais Princier.

On Friday, June 19, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco inaugurated the  Maison de l’Apidologie à Mazaugues in southeastern France.  The new laboratory “…will protect the bees by studying their operations and promoting their fertility…” according to the Palais Princier.

On Saturday, June 20, 2015, the sovereign prince attended the presentation of the ship, Yersin, at the Yacht Club de Monaco.  The exploration ship is “..both a private boat and multi-purpose vessel for sailing on all oceans and in all weathers. The Yersin is designed to travel, explore, and educate…”  

And, finally, this afternoon, the sovereign prince received credentials from the Ambassador of Italy, Mr. Massimo Lavezzo Cassinelli, at the Palais Princier de Monaco.

On Friday, June 12, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco officially opened the exhibition, Grace Kelly: Princess and Style Icon, held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan.

And, finally on Sunday, June 14, 2015, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene attended the 33th Annual Meeting International de Natation gala dinner in Monte-Carlo.

On Monday, June 15, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco began his two-day visit to Granville, France.

The day began with a reception hosted by local government officials in honor of the sovereign prince’s visit.  Thereafter, Prince Albert II unveiled a plaque in honor of his ancestors who once inhabited the area.

In the afternoon, Prince Albert II arrived at the Musée d’Art Moderne Richard Anacréon where he opened the exhibition, 1715-2015 Granville Monaco: Rêver l’Histoire.
