On Friday, June 29, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover became patron of the 17th RGP Régiment du Génie Parachutiste. The ceremony took place in Montauban, France. To read more about the princess’s new patronage pleaseclick here (in French).
Meanwhile, this evening at the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, Belgium, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde attended the performance of, Sterrendansgala, according to La Monarchie Belge. Tonight’s performance was:
…held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Koninklijke Balleschool Antwerpen (Royal Ballet School of Antwerp). For 60 years, the school has trained outstanding classical [ballet] dancers from various countries.
On June 27, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium were in Lontzen to visit a German-speaking community.
According to La Monarchie Belge, the royal couple began their day with a visit to “Haus Harna” where:
… they were informed of various cultural projects by the youth. They then travelled to Eupen where they visited ”Work & Job”, a training and professional integration project for job seekers. The day ended with the royal couple attending a reception held in their honor at the Ministry of the German-speaking community.
In other news, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco’s personal foundation, Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, signed a “Cooperation Agreement” with “… Forum das Americas, Brazil’s pioneering think-tank on global affairs and hemispheric dialogue” during the recent RIO+20 conference in Brazil. The agreement:
… provides a framework for the development of multissectorial joint initiatives, was signed by Forum das Americas Founder and President Mario Garnero and The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation CEO, H.E. Bernard Fautrier, with the support of the Italian Minister of the Environment, H.E. Corrado Clini.
The Cooperation Agreement was signed in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, who declared: ‘I decided to set up a Foundation whose purpose is to protect the environment and to encourage sustainable development … this is a common global challenge that requires urgent and concrete action in response to three major environmental issues: climate change, biodiversity and water. It is therefore with great pleasure that our Foundation forges this partnership with Forum das Americas, so ably led by Mario Garnero.’
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation CEO, H.E. Bernard Fautrier, believes ‘the partnership with Forum das Americas provides an excellent vehicle for us to play a constructive role in the global debate on sustainable development, as well as in projects in Brazil.’
Mario Garnero, whose sustainable development leadership ranges from biofuels to green technologies and environment-friendly textiles, indicates that ‘our cooperation with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is more that a matter of great honour for Forum das Americas. It is an effective instrument to improving awareness and best practices in sustainability.’ Garnero adds that ‘we will start work from day-zero in implementing a cooperation program that will be of great benefit to the peoples of Brazil and Monaco.’

Meanwhile in Monaco, Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover watched the 2012 Fête de la Saint Jean procession held in front of the Palais Princier de Monaco on June 23, 2012.
On June 21, 2012, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco arrived at crappy LAX airport (from Charles de Gaulle in France). Accompanying the princess was her brother, Gareth, and his beautiful girlfriend, Roisin.
It is unknown how long the sweet princess will be in my hometown; nonetheless, I hope she has a great time whilst in City of Angels!
On June 20, 2012, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco along with Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover attended the 4th Annual FANB Race Challenge in Monaco.
According to the Palais Princier de Monaco the FANB Race Challenge, with the theme of ‘Sport-Health-Environment’, allows students from grades 4th-6th to participate in an hour and 45 minute race in which teams of students (usually three or more) solve puzzles “… in the Fontvieille gardens. The race is part of the Olympic Day recommended by the IOC indented to promote the Olympic movement.”
At the end of the 4th FANB Race Challenge Princess Charlene and Princess Caroline presented medals to the students.

On June 19, 2012, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the 2012 International School of Monaco graduation ceremony in Monte-Carlo.
During today’s ceremony, held inside the Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris, the sweet princess presented certificates and diplomas to 28 happy students.

Recently, Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover was at the Villa Sauber Nouveau Musée National de Monaco to view the exhibition by the late Dutch artist, Kees Van Dongen, entitled, Kees Van Dongen: L’Atelier. Meanwhile, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco gave a speech during the opening session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) entitled, Forests: The Heart of the Green Economy, on June 18, 2012. According to the website for Sustainable Development, Policy and Practice, today’s conference session focused on the:
… role of forests and industry in fostering local livelihoods at the resource base and in enabling product transition to a low-carbon bio-economy among consumers. Themes included: the role of the forest sector in emerging bio-economies; forest certification a paradigm shift in green economy; and contributions of forest industry in rural development.
Today’s, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conference session is a side event of the 2012 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (aka RIO+20) held in Brazil.
Prince Albert II will remain at the summit conference until June 22, 2012.
