His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco to Attend the 6th Annual World Water Forum in Marseille, France. Plus, Other News.

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco will be in Marseille, France to participate in the 6th Annual World Water Forum.

The event, organized by the World Water Council, will gather 800 speakers from around the world as well as 25,000 attendees to discuss, debate, and attend presentations regarding, well, water.   🙂  To be more specific the purpose of the forum is to:

…tackle the challenges our world is facing and to bring water high on all political agendas. There will be no sustainable development while the water issues remain unsolved. Everywhere on the planet, for all and everyone, the Right to Water (recognised by 189 states at the UN one year ago) must be guaranteed and implemented.

Both Prince Willem-Alexander and Prince Albert II will give speeches during the World Water Forum’s opening day on March 12, 2012.  Two days later Prince Albert II will return to Monaco to participate in a side event (hence connected with the World Water Forum):

…in collaboration with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Blue Plan, Veolia Environnement, International Office for Water and Unitar. The work undertaken by the Mediterranean Water Think Tank will be presented on this occasion.

In other Monaco related news, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene is currently in Melbourne, Australia.  The princess attended a private gala dinner on March 9, 2012, hosted by Lady Mayoress Emma Page Campbell, at the Melbourne Town Hall in honor of Princess Charlene’s  visit to lovely Australia.

Tomorrow, the princess along with Mr. John Kelly (nephew of the late Princess Grace) and Ms. Kristina Haugland from the Philadelphia Museum of Art will officially open the exhibition, Grace Kelly: Style Icon, at the Bendigo Art Gallery.

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Attends the 2012 Olympic Flame Conference in Arnhem

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was at the National Sports Center Papendal in Arnhem on March 8, 2012 to participate in the 2012 Olympic Flame Conference.

Attendees at today’s event included the Chairman of the Olympic Flame, Camiel Eurlings, as well as representatives from various sports federations and associations, business leaders, and local government leaders.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the Women TOP Society Breakfast held at De Witte in Den Haag on March 8, 2012.

According to RVD, today’s event was organized by Stichting Talent naar de Top (Talent to the Top Foundation):

The Foundation focuses on facilitating and encouraging government, businesses, and women leaders to promote as well as recruit women for various job positions…

Their Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attend a Gala Dinner in Den Haag

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands were in Den Haag this evening to attend a gala dinner for the Stichting Instandhouding Nieuwspoort held in the Knights Hall.  Also in attendance were Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as well as dozens of local dignitaries, company CEOs, and members of various social organizations.

During tonight’s gala dinner there was a lecture given by the United Kingdom’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Nick Clegg.

Random Royal News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands (VIDEO)

It was recently announced that Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will attend the opening of the 2012 Floriade World Horticultural Expo (FWHE) on April 4, 2012 in Venlo.

According to the official website for the FWHE this event:

… is held in the Netherlands every ten years since 1960 and always at a different location in the Netherlands. From 5 April until 7 October 2012, the sixth edition of Floriade will be organised in Venlo in central-eastern Netherlands. The central theme of Floriade 2012, ‘Be part of the theatre in nature, get closer to the quality of life’, has been translated into five core sub-themes, which will be portrayed via five themed zones on the park.  The five core sub-themes at Floriade will cover the different aspects of the relationship between the consumer and the horticultural sector.

Today, March 7, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix was in Soesterberg where she opened the “…the new Sergeant-Major Scheickkazerne explosives ordnance disposal EOD…” Afterward, Her Majesty unveil a new plaque as well as toured the new facility.

Meanwhile in Amsterdam, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the First Rural Coachingsdag of Qredits.  According to RVD the purpose of today’s event:

…aims to promote entrepreneurship in the Netherlands by means of providing micro-credit.  Qredits provides financing, with a maximum of 50,000 Euros to start-ups as well as existing entrepreneurs, who, despite a good business plan or no business plan can get credit at a bank.  Support and guidance is also available to entrepreneurs.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Receives a Report “A Billion to Gain” and Attends the Opening of the New Project “Women Inc.” (VIDEOS)

On March 6, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at the Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen in Amsterdam whereupon she received a copy of the report, A Billion to Gain.

According to RVD/ Het Koninklijk Huis, today’s event was  organized by ING Micro-financing and the Dutch Platform for Micro-finance (CNP).  For more information about the report please click here. (in English)

Afterward, Princess Maxima attended the opening of the new project, Women Inc, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, municipalities as well as local organizations.

This new project aims to “…focus on the importance of economic independence of women and inspire them with education and motivation.”

His Royal Highness Prince Johan Friso of Oranje-Nassau Transported to London, England for Further Care. (VIDEO)

It was announced by RVD via Het Koninklijk Huis, that His Royal Highness Prince Johan Friso of Oranje-Nassau has been transported from Innsbruck University Hospital in Austria to Wellington Hospital in London for further care.

Per the press announcement (rough translation):

His Royal Highness Prince Friso has arrived in London today, his hometown for the past several years.

Based on opinions by medical experts, Wellington Hospital was chosen where Prince Friso, in his current condition, can receive the best care for his needs. London also provides for his children the most prospect of continuity and stability.

Today marks an ends of a long and intensive period for the Royal family and in particular the family of Prince Friso.  Now it is time to begin the rehabilitation process, which will be tried to start.

The family of His Royal Highness Prince Friso has all the space needed to cope with the health situation of Prince Friso and life there on in to focus. The family therefore invites the media to continue the necessary privacy of the family.

Princess Mabel would like to express her gratitude for all the messages of support and expressions of sympathy, “The warm compassion in the past period has given me support and strength.  My gratitude for this is big. Thank you.

Her Majesty the Queen, Princess Mabel and her children have also departed from Lech, Austria to London.
