On November 15, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands gave a speech, in her capacity as Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development of the Secretary General of the United Nations, during the 8th Edition of the Conference: Growing SMEs, Connect, Exchange, Invest held at the World Forum in Den Haag.
Today’s conference, organized by CSR Netherlands and BiD Network, focused on:
“… linking investors with entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries, providing information about various forms of entrepreneurship development and encouraging networks.”
On November 15, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje attended the annual conference, ECP, held at the Circustheater in Scheveningen. According to RVD, the prince “… visited the conference in his capacity as a member of the Advisory Board of ECP (Platform for the Information Society).”
Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at the Prinses Maxima Prinses Amalia School in Zoetermeer on November 14, 2012, to participate in Cash Quiz Game in connection with the week-long event known as Week van Het Geld.
According to RVD, Cash Quiz Game is aimed at youths (ages 7 and up) to teach them “… how to manage money through quiz questions…”
On November 14, 2012,Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands along with Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 2012 Erasmusprijs (Erasmus Prize) held at the Koninklijk Paleis in Amsterdam.
His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje, as regent/patron of the Praemium Erasmianum, presented the Erasmusprijs to “… American philosopher, Daniel C. Dennett” according to RVD.
On November 14, 2012,Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands attended the 10th anniversary celebrations of the International Criminal Court held at the Ridderzaal in Den Haag.
According to RVD, guests at today’s celebrations included:
“… a large number of dignitaries and legal and diplomatic representatives of states, international organizations, regional organizations and civil society organizations.
The ICC, which is based in Den Haag, was established in 2002 as a permanent court for the prosecution of persons suspected of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. The ICC is an independent organization that is not part of the United Nations…”
In her capacity as a special advocate of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the field of Inclusive Finance for Development, the princess was asked to give the opening during today’s event according to RVD.
