HRH Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Visits the Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum. (VIDEO)

pssmaxima2011On February 26, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC) to receive the first copy of the book entitled, Een Wereld Zonder Baarmoederhalskanker (A World Without Cervical Cancer).

The book was presented to the future Queen of the Netherlands by the Professor of Gynecology at Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum and founder of the Female Cancer Foundation, Prof. Lex Peters.

Per RVD (rough translation):

“…85% of women who have Cervical Cancer are from developing countries. Photographer Chantal Spieard followed Professor Lex Peters and Female Cancer Foundation by documenting their work in Indonesia, Africa and Bangladesh. 

The Female Cancer Foundation began in the late eighties by cooperation of the departments of Gynecology, Pathology and Immunohematology at the LUMC. Since then, structural partnerships began in Suriname, Africa and Indonesia. From 2007 to 2011, a preventive screening program began in which millions of men and women are educated and hundreds of thousands of women are screened and treated if necessary. Now there are programs in Indonesia, Bangladesh and in five African countries.”

HRH Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Participates in the 5th Edition of the WOMEN Inc., Festival.

pssmaxima2011On February 14, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands participated in the opening of the 5th Edition of the WOMEN Inc., Festival held at the RAI in Amsterdam.

According to RVD, WOMEN Inc., is an:

“…independent platform that connects women and promotes individual development. It brings together women of different ages, cultures and disciplines at national and international level.”

During today’s opening Princess Maxima gave a speech as well a met with various attending the WOMEN Inc., festival.

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Visits the VDL ETG Group in Eindhoven. (VIDEO)

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was in Eindhoven on February 6, 2013, to visit the company, VDL ETG Group.

According to RVD:

“The VDL Group operates in the sector of supply includes modules for the semiconductor industry, bus manufacturer and supplier of various end products such as packaging. The products that the VDL Group makes relate to metal, plastic and engineering. ”

Upon his arrival at VDL ETG in Eindhoven the Prince Willem-Alexander was warmly greeted by representatives of VDL ETG then given a tour of the facility.  During his visit he was “…informed about the history of the family business and the current position of the company which currently employs 9,000 individuals operating in 18 countries.”  The prince also met with various employees in which he “…talked to them about their work.”

PrinceofOranjeOn the morning of February 5, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje visited the Centrum Voor Dienstverlening (CVD) to meet with participants of the program, Real Men.

According to RVD, Real Men is:

“… an employment program for socially-isolated men, organized by the Centre for Services (CVD). Participants of Real Men are often socially isolated, unemployed, have debts or dealing with addiction. The purpose of the six-month process of Genuine Men’s underlying problems, their own talents to tap and the men again prospect through structural and meaningful activities. This is done through weekly group meetings, trainings and workshops. Yet during or immediately after starting the program group participants volunteering”

During his visit the future King of the Netherlands met with participants of this important program as well as organizers and staff of Real Men.
