On October 2, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Oslo, Norway for an official visit.
Upon their arrival at the airport Their Majesties were warmly welcomed by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.
Soon, Their Majesties arrived at the royal palace in Oslo where Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway were waiting for them. After a brief photo-op for the press Their Majesties attended a reception held in their honor then participated in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg. The day ended with an official luncheon hosted by Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja at the royal palace.
On the evening of October 1, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands hosted a gala dinner at Paleis Noordeinde in honor of the President of Israel, Shimon Peres, four-day visit to the Netherlands.
On Tuesday, October 1, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended a symposium in celebration of the 175th anniversary of the Hoge Raad der Nederlanden (Supreme Court of the Netherlands) in Den Haag.
On Tuesday, October 1, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands participated in the opening of the 3rd Edition of the Pensioen3daagse, “…an initiative of the national platform of the Wijzer in geldzaken…” in Utrecht.
On Monday, September 30, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands met with the President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, at Paleis Huis ten Bosch.
President Museveni is in the Netherlands to “…examine the possibilities for investments on agriculture and shipbuilding in Uganda [where he will] speak with Dutch investors and will visit VEKA Group in Werkendam…” according to RVD.
On September 27, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands arrived at the Amsterdam RAI to attend the opening of the 17th ECCO – 38th ESMO – 32nd ESTRO European Cancer Congress.
It was announced by RVD, that Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands had surgery this morning, Sunday September 22, 2013, after “…she had an unfortunate fall at her home and had broken her cheekbone…”
After the surgery the princess will remain in the hospital, under observation, for the next few days.
