On the afternoon of May 20, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in Den Haag to attend Professor Jumoke Oduwole’s inaugural lecture entitled, International Law and the Right to Development: A Pragmatic Approach for Africa.
Professor Oduwole was appointed as the 2013-2015 Prince Claus Chair holder on September 1, 2013.

On Thursday, May 15, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended a concert at De Bolder retirement home in Huizen in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Stichting Muziek in Huis.
In the afternoon, Her Majesty arrived in Driebergen to visit the Futurelab voor de Zorg (Futurelab for Care). According to RVD, the laboratory “…seeks new and innovative solutions to help the elderly and the chronically ill to stay independently as long as they can…”

On May 15, 2014, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands arrived at the Academiegebouw in Groningen to attend the launch of the 400th anniversary celebrations of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
On the evening of May 14, 2014, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands hosted a gala dinner for members of the Diplomatic Corps at the Koninklijk Paleis in Amsterdam.
According to RVD, tonight’s gala dinner takes place:
“…in order to maintain and strengthen international relations. To deepen these relationships even better this year guests of the Dutch parliament, government and the public sector are [also] present.”
