Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II Welcomes the President of Vietnam to Denmark. (VIDEOS)

drf-coaOn Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte welcomed the President of Vietnam, Truong Tấn Sang and First Lady Mai Thi Hanh to lovely old Denmark.

After the usual traditional welcoming ceremony and the inspection of the Royal Life Guard’s Her Majesty, the royal family, President Sang and the First Lady hopped into their cars and hightailed to Fredensborg Slot.  Once there the always incredibly happy Danish press were waiting ever so patiently for Her Majesty and her guests inside the Harsdorffsalen at Fredensborg Slot.  Ten minutes later the photo-op was over.

An hour and a half later and a change of clothing Crown Princess Mary hosted a lovely luncheon at Frederik VIII’s Palace for First Lady Mai Thi Hanh and her delegation.  Thereafter, the future queen of Denmark and the First Lady arrived in Hellerup where they visited a kindergarten then headed on over to the Nationalmuseet to view the fantastic exhibition, Viking.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince Frederik had the pleasure of entertaining President Sang and his delegation for a few hours.  So what did they do?  Well, the crown prince hosted a fabulous luncheon at the Hermitage Palace for his Vietnamese guests and a few lucky as well as very influential — hence deep pockets — Danish businessmen.

After that they sailed in and around Copenhagen Harbor…staring at a bunch of stuff.  An hour later they were over it.  As a result they headed on over to A.P. Møller Mærsk where they watched a “…presentation about the company’s business activities in Vietnam…” according to the Danish royal court.

In the evening, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II hosted a gala state dinner at Fredensborg Slot in honor of President Sang and First Lady Mai Thi Hanh’s visit to Denmark.
