News Regarding Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium.

 

On the evening of November 19, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium was in Etterbeek where she visited the Tehuis voor Foorreizigers- en Schipperskinderen a “…boarding school for children of fairground travelers and skipper children…”  to read aloud various stories to the youth according to the Belgian royal court.

The event was organized by the Fondation pour la Lecture as part of Reading Aloud Week.

 

His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium Visits Australia.

On Sunday, November 18, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium arrived in Perth, Australia.  The future king of Belgium is on an 11-day economic mission with several Belgian government officials and 147  business representatives.

This important mission, organized by the Agency for Foreign Trade in collaboration with Awex, Flanders Investment & Trade, and Brussels Invest & Export, will visit the towns of Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.

According to Sky News Australia, the mission also:

“… includes a university contingent that seeks to sign co-operative agreements with Curtin University and the University of Western Australia on areas such as agribusiness, physiotherapy, information and communication technology, audiology, marine science and international relations.”

Prince Philippe and his delegation will also travel to Wellington, New Zealand.

On November 15, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium along with Their Royal Highnesses Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Laurent and Princess Claire of Belgium celebrated Fête du Roi 2012.

The day began with a Te Deum held at the Cathédrale des Saints-Michel and Gudule in Brussels.  Afterward, the royal family attended a ceremony at the Palais de la Nation “… organized by the Chambre des Représentants, the Sénat and the  Gouvernement Fédéral…”  

Later, the royal family watched “… a military ceremony of homage which took place in front of the steps of the Palais Royal with the participation of the Détachement Garde d’Honneur.”

News Regarding Members of the Belgian Royal Family.

On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Their Majesties King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium welcomed Polish President, Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski, and his wife to Palais d’Egmont in Brussels.  President Komorowski and his delegation are in Belgium for a two-day official visit.

After the official welcoming ceremony and laying a wreath at the monument of the Unknown Solider, His Majesty and President Komorowski attended a luncheon meeting at Château de Laeken.

Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium Participates in a Meeting.

 

On November 6, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium attended the First Child & Youth Finance Regional Meeting for Europe and Central Asia in Brussels, Belgium.

This two-day meeting was organized by the “… Foundation Child & Youth Finance International in collaboration with the FSMA, the European Association of Co-operative Banks, the European Banking Federation, and World Savings Banks Institute (WSBI).”

 

 

His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium Attends the 2012 Essenscia Innovation Award.

On the morning of October 25, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium attended the 2012 Essenscia Innovation Award ceremony held at the Palais des Academies in Brussels.

According to the Belgian royal court this new award will be “… presented every two years by Essenscia, the Belgian federation of chemical and life sciences, to encourage innovation in the sector of the Belgian economy.”

On the evening of October 24, 2012, Their Majesties King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium along with Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde, Their Royal Highnesses Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz, and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Laurent and Princess Claire attended a concert in, collaboration with the Festival de Wallonie and the Festival van Vlaanderen, held at the Palais de Bruxelles.
