News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium. (VIDEO)

QPBOn Thursday, March 7, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium visited the Athénée Royal Marche-Barvaux-Bomal in Marche-en-Famenne.

Per the Belgian royal court and L’Avenir:

“Her Majesty’s visit follows the contest ‘Terre d’Avenir’ organized by the Fondation Reine Paola in collaboration with the Fondation Dirk Frimout. In 2012, the students of the Athénée along with the l’Institut Centre-Ardennes de Libramont won Terre d’Avenir top award for their project, Natur’elles…”

TRHs Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium Visit the Province du Brabant Flamand.

belgiumOn the morning of March 5, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium visited the Province du Brabant Flamand.  The purpose of their visit is to “…to discover new projects and encourage local initiatives.”

According to the Belgian royal court, the prince and princess visited the Olympia dairy company in Herfelingen, toured an educational center in Gooik, attended a reception held in their honor and much more.

His Majesty King Albert II and Prince Philippe of Belgium Hold Audiences.

AlofBelgiumOn March 5, 2013, His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium held an audience with the Ministre du Budget and Simplification administrative, Mr. Olivier Chastel, at Château de Laeken.

Later, His Majesty accepted the resignation of Belgian Finance Minister, Mr. Steven Vanackere.  Mr. Vanackrere is “…linked to a scandal concerning the state-owned Belfius bank…”  As a result of Mr. Vanackere’s departure the Belgian royal court announced that His Majesty has “…nominated Mr. Koen Geens to serve a the new finance minister.”

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium held an audience with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul.

Prince Philippe also attended the Righteous Among the Nations ceremony held at the Palais d’Egmont in Brussels.

PhilippeOn the morning of February 28, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium was in Anderlecht where he met with representatives from the Centre de Référence Professionnelle Bruxellois pour le Secteur de la Construction (Reference Centre for Professional Brussels Area Construction).

According to the Belgian royal court, “Prince Philippe also participated in a working meeting on youth unemployment. Then he met some young people looking for a job and visited the Centre…”

Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium Visits the Museum für Kunst-Zeitgenössische Ikob.

QPBOn Thursday, February 28, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium visited the  Museum für Kunst-Zeitgenössische Ikob (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Eupen.

According to the Belgian royal court, Her Majesty viewed “…a retrospective of works by Jan Fabre from the years 1975-1979. This exhibition is on display on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Museum für Kunst-Zeitgenössische Ikob.”

PMBelgiumOn Wednesday, February 27, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium visited Maison des Brasseurs at the Grand Palace in Brussels.

According to the Belgian royal court, the prince met with members of the Fédération Belge des Brasseurs and participated in a meeting “…with members of the Fédération where he learned more about the evolution of the beer industry and issues relating to export, catering and small breweries.”  

Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium participated in a roundtable discussion “…on the issue of Breast cancer…” with representatives from the Breast International group (BIG) at their headquarters in Brussels.

According to the Belgian royal court BIG brings together “…experts from around the world in order to find a cure to overcome Breast cancer. With 3,000 hospitals and 10,000 doctors and researchers, it is the largest network professionals dedicated to finding a cure for Breast cancer.”
