TRHs Princess Margriet and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands Attend an Award Ceremony in Brussels.

Princess MargrietOn March 19, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Princess Margriet and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands, along with Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium, attended the 2013 European Culture Foundation Award Ceremony held at The Egg in Brussels.

Per RVD:

“This award of the European Cultural Foundation (ECF), in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Culture and Science and Foreign Affairs, has been awarded to artists Dan and Lia Perjovschi and conductor Yoel Gamzou. During the ceremony Princess Laurentien, President of the ECF, gave a speech and Princess Margriet presented the awards.”

TRHs Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium Visit Thailand: Day Three.

PMBelgiumOn March 19, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium continued their six-day visit to Thailand.

This morning at the St. Regis Bangkok Prince Philippe attended the opening of the “…information session on ‘Infractstructure and Logistics’…”  Soon, the prince and his delegation attended the opening of the 10th anniversary of “…Emeritis in Thailand…”, and attended a luncheon with the Thai Minister of Industry.

Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde participated in a meeting with representatives from the “…World Bank, WHO, and the UN who are active in Thailand…”  The princess also attended a luncheon with Thai Young Global Leaders, participated in a meeting with “…business women of the Belgian delegation” and much more.

Later in the afternoon the royal couple participated in a roundtable discussion entitled, Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals.

TRHs Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde Visit Thailand: Day 2.

mpbOn March 18, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium continued their six-day visit to Thailand.

This morning Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde, accompanied by their business delegation, attended a meeting a with the Thai Minister of Commerce, Mr. Boonsong Teryapirom, at the St. Regis Hotel.  The meeting, under the theme Thailand at a Glance, focused on the “…macro-economic context of Thailand, the Thai trade policy and investment opportunities.”

Afterward, the prince and his delegation attended “…presentation by AGEAS with the Thai Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance.”  After a luncheon at the St. Regis Prince Philippe attended yet another boring meeting entitled, Agro-Food Possibilities in Thailand, with the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Meanwhile, Princess Mathilde was having the time of her life when she attended the opening of the exhibition, Three Colors of Belgium, held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center.  Soon, the princess attended a luncheon with “…Thai and Belgian business women…” and participated in a roundtable meeting “…on microfinance in Thailand with representatives from the Asian Development Bank…”

In the late afternoon Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde met with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra.  The day ended with a gala reception and dinner at the Government House in Bangkok.

TRHs Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium Visit Thailand. (VIDEO)

PMBelgiumOn the morning of March 17, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium, accompanied by their 170+ business delegation, arrived in Bangkok, Thailand for a six-day visit at “…the invitation of Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand.”

The visit is intended to promote trade between Belgium and Thailand in the areas of “… alternative energy, pharmaceuticals, food and agro-industry, and logistics…” according to the National News Bureau of Thailand.

This afternoon, Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium attended the inauguration of a “…bust in honor of the former Belgian diplomat and at one time the General Advisor to His Majesty King Rama V, Gustave Rolin-Jaequemyns…” at the residence of the current Belgian ambassador to Thailand.

Afterward, the royal couple visited Wat Pho where they “… toured several of the Buddhist temple’s well-known landmarks, including the Reclining Buddha, guided by an English-speaking senior monk.”

Tomorrow, the Prime Minister of Thailand, Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, will host a gala dinner at the Government House in Bangkok, in honor of the royal couple’s visit.
