On May 13, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium arrived in Lausanne, Switzerland for one-day visit to the International Olympic Committee headquarters according to the Belgian royal court.
The purpose of the royal couple’s visit was to “…meet with International Olympic Committee President, Mr. Jacques Rogge and a delegation from the Belgian National Olympic Committee…”

On Wednesday, May 8, 2013, Their Imperial and Royal Highnesses Prince Lorenz of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este and Princess Astrid, Archduchess of Austria-Este attended the opening of the 32nd Edition of the Jeux Nationaux Special Olympics in Ghent.
According to the Belgian royal court and the newspaper, L’Avenir over:
“….3,700 athletes will participate in 19 sports events over the next three days. Unlike the Paralympics, which are intended for elite athletes with a physical disability, “National Special Olympics” are open to athletes of all levels with an intellectual disability. These athletes are supervised daily by 1,200 coaches and many volunteers.”

On the morning of May 7, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the Palais d’Egmont in Brussels to opening the opening of the 6th Conference of the Coopération Belge au Développement.
On the morning Friday, May 3, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium presided over the 12th Edition of the Prix Princesse Mathilde held at the Palais de Bruxelles. The theme of this year’s award is “…La Force des Pères and the father’s role in education.”
Their Majesties King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium were at the residence of the Italian Ambassador to Belgium on Monday to attend the presentation of a new book entitled, Hommage à l’Europe, by Professor Louis Godart.

On April 26, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium met with Cambodia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hor Namhong, in Phnom Penh this afternoon as well as with Queen Monineath Sihanouk, the mother of the late King Norodom Sihanouk. So what did they talk about? No idea. But, I am sure they discussed important world issues and other stuff.
Anyway, the princess completed her three-day visit to Cambodia on the occasion of World Malaria Day. And, that’s it. 🙂
Her Royal Highness Princess Claire of Belgium visited the beautiful Château de Beloeil this morning to attend “…an exposition of amaryllis flowers.”
