TMs King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium Visit Namur. (VIDEOS)

PMBelgiumOn Wednesday, October 2, 2013, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the city of Namur.  Upon their arrival at Place Saint-Aubain Their Majesties were warmly welcomed by hundreds of locals as well as by the governor and the mayor of Namur.

Thereafter, Their Majesties attended a reception held in their honor at the Palais Provincial de Namur where they listened to various welcoming speeches, received gifts, and signed the Livre d’Or (guestbook).

After the reception, Their Majesties visited the Musée Provincial des Arts Anciens du Namurois where they were given a private tour of the lovely museum.  Soon, the reigning couple attended a luncheon meeting at the Théâtre Royal de Namur, and then completed a walkabout where they shook hands with hundreds of locals who were happy to met their new king and queen.

TMs King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium Visit the City of Antwerp. (VIDEOS)

BelgiumPMOn Friday, September 27, 2013, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived in the city of Antwerp for a one-day visit.

Upon their arrival at the Museum Aan de Stroom, Their Majesties were welcomed by the Mayor of Antwerp, Mr. Bart de Wever as well as other government officials.

After a reception where several speeches were made Their Majesties signed the Livre d’Or (Golden Book), and then left the museum where hundreds of locals were eager to meet with their new king and queen.  Thereafter, they inaugurated the new Red Star Line Museum.

Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium Attend a Gala Evening Concert. Plus, Other News.

belgiumOn the afternoon of September 25, 2013, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium welcomed Mr. Jacques Rogge and his wife, Anne, to Château de Laeken.

During their meeting, His Majesty presented the Grand Croix de l’Ordre de la Couronne to Mr. Rogge who was the former President of the International Olympic Committee.

This evening King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended a concert at theNotre-Dame de la Cambre in Ixelles in tribute to the “…20 year reign of King Albert II of Belgium and in memory of the late King Baudouin of Belgium organized by the Association de la Noblesse du Royaume de Belgique…” according to the Belgian royal court.

belgiumOn Tuesday, September 24, 2013, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived in city of Hasselt in the province of Limburg for a one-day visit.

Upon their arrival to the city Their Majesties were greeted with cheers from thousands of people who were thrilled to see their new king and queen.  After receiving various local government officials including the provincial governor, Mr. Herman Reynders, Their Majesties attended a reception held in their honor, signed the Livre d’Or, completed a walkabout to meet the people, and generally had a fabulous time.   🙂

Members of the Belgian Royal Family Participate in Journée sans Voiture. (VIDEOS)

Belgium2On a lovely Sunday morning, September 22, 2013, in Brussels Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium along with their children — Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eléonore — joined thousands of people enjoying the 12th Annual Journée sans Voiture (Car Free Sunday).

The event, which also takes place in several cities throughout Belgium, encourages people to get out of their cars for a day, and to simply enjoy their city by using other modes of transportation (hence bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, and/or just simply putting one foot in front of the other and walking slowly).
