On the evening of March 25, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium accompanied by the Prime Minister of Belgium, Mr. Elio Di Rupo, welcomed the President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, to Brussels, Belgium.
During his two-day visit to Brussels, President Obama will attend the 2014 EU-US Summit held at the European Headquarters as well as visit the Flanders Field American Cemetery and Memorial in Waregem alongside His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 19, 2014, King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium visited the Habbekrats Association and their project, Surplas, at the Grand Place in Brussels.
On Monday, March 17, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium arrived at the Technopolis Education Center in Mechelen to attend the opening of the 2014 Science Centre World Summit (SCWS).
According to the official website for the 2014 SCWS the summit “…brings together CEO’s, managers, decision makers, experts from within and beyond the science centre field to explore together the global challenges and to focus on long term strategic issues.”
On Thursday, March 13, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium accompanied by the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Didier Reynders, arrived in London, England for a one-day official visit.
The day began with a visit to the Houses of Parliament where they met with various British government officials. Thereafter, the reigning couple attended a private luncheon meeting with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. In the afternoon, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde arrived at Westminster Abbey where they were given a tour of the lovely church and placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider.
On the morning of Tuesday, March 11, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium participated in a meeting “…with leading women from various sectors in the province of Antwerp…” according to AFP News.
Today’s meeting was held on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
On February 28, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium visited Technifutur in Seraing.
According to the Belgian newspaper, SudPresse, Technifutur is a “…skills and training center devoted to industry and the techniques of communication and information…”
