On the morning of April 23, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the Palais des Académies in Brussels to preside over the 2014 Prix InBev-Baillet Latour de la Santé (InBev-Baillet Latour Awards for Health and Clinical Research).

On April 4, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium received a delegation from the Commerçants et Artisans du Quartier des Abattoirs d’Anderlecht at the Palais Royal de Bruxelles.
During Friday’s brief meeting His Majesty was presented with the “…traditional Paschal Lamb…” according to AFP News.

On April 1, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, and his wife, Ms. Yoo Soon-teak, at Château de Laeken.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium accompanied by the President of China, Mr. Xi Jingping, and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan, visited the Volvo Cars manufacturing plant in Ghent.
Whilst there Their Majesties and their guests met with the President of Volvo Cars, Mr. Hakan Samuelsson, employees of Volvo Cars, and toured the manufacturing facility.
Thereafter, Their Majesties and President Jingping and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan arrived in the beautiful city of Bruges. Whilst there the reigning couple and their guests visited the Collège d’Europe where President Jinping gave a speech.

On the evening of Monday, March 31, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium hosted a gala state banquet at Château de Laeken in honor of the President of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan, three-day state visit to Belgium.
On Sunday, March 30, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium welcomed the President of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan, to Belgium. The purpose of President Jinping’s three-day state visit is to strengthen bilateral and economic ties between Belgium and China.
After the official welcoming ceremony, Their Majesties along with President Jinping and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan arrived at the Palais de Bruxelles to pose for official photos for the press. His Majesty also presented the Order of Leopold to President Jinping during yesterday’s photo-op.
Thereafter, Their Majesties and President Jinping visited Pairi Daiza Zoo and Botanical Garden in Brugelette.
This morning, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan visited the Musée des Instruments de Musique in Brussels while President Jinping visited the European Union headquarters.

On March 27, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the presentation of the 2014 federal directory entitled, Pauvreté en Belgique 2014, at the Palais de Bruxelles.
According to the Belgian royal court this year’s edition of the federal directory:
“…again shows the diverse and multidimensional aspects of poverty, and the importance of considering the situation in Belgium as a whole. The main findings of the federal directory on poverty 2013 remain topical: the deep and persistent crisis has an impact on the problems of poverty and social exclusion in our society.”
