His Majesty King Philippe Of Belgium Attends The Celebration of the 75th Anniversary Of The Belgian Navy In Antwerp.

On the afternoon of May 18, 2022, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium attended the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Belgian Navy in the port of Antwerp.

The celebrations began with a fleet parade organized as part of the Fleet Days. Nine ships from the Belgian and Dutch navies sailed down the Scheldt River to highlight the excellent bilateral cooperation between the naval components of both countries. According to the Dutch Ministry of Defense, the Dutch and Belgian navies have been:

“…working together since 1948. In that year, the two countries agreed that their navies would operate under single command during times of war. This informal agreement was formalized on February 7, 1996, and is valid during both peacetime and war.”

(VIDEO) HRH The Duke of Cambridge Unveils the Submariners Memorial in Staffordshire, England.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge unveiled the new Submariners Memorial memorial at the National Arboretum at Alrewas in Staffordshire, England.

The memorial is the first space in the United Kingdom dedicated to those who have lost their lives in the Submarine service.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, and Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, The Honorable Lady Ogilvy, attended The Queen’s Garden Party, hosted by HRH The Earl of Wessex, at Buckingham Palace in London.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, as Honorary President of MIND Us, visited Leiden University of Applied Sciences in Leiden. MIND Us, is an organization that was developed to help young people deal with their mental health, develop resilience and find help when needed.

The purpose of this morning’s visit was to discuss the mental health of students in higher and scientific education. The students and education administrators informed Her Majesty about the recent initiatives created to increase their well-being, such as raising money for projects that can improve mental health.

Students from Fresh Thoughts told Her Majesty about, Walk and Talks, a program in which students discuss mental challenges they’ve experienced. The Fresh Thoughts organization, active throughout the Netherlands, also arranges various events and offers online discussions about mental health.

According to RVD, any students deal with:

“…stress, loneliness, and pressure to perform. That is why five Leiden parties recently signed the Student Welfare Declaration: the Municipality of Leiden, Leiden University, Leiden University of Applied Sciences, the Local Chamber of Associations and the Study Association Consultation Platform. Queen Maxima spoke with the creators of the movement…”

HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark Returns to Germany.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark returned to Germany to attend the 100th-anniversary celebrations of the Duborg School in Flensburg.

Duborg School is part of the German school system for the Danish minority in South Schleswig and has a qualifying student exam for higher education in both Denmark and Germany.

During today’s event, there were musical performances, singing, and dancing according to the Danish royal court. After the celebrations, Princess Benedikte attended a luncheon at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Flensburg.

TMs King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden Welcome the President of Finland to Stockholm.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden welcomed the President of Finland, His Excellency Mr. Sauli Niinistö, and First Lady, Jenni Haukio, at the Hovstallet in Stockholm. The President and the First Lady were invited by His Majesty The King for a two-day state visit to Sweden.

According to the Swedish royal court, the purpose of the state visit is to:

“…confirm the good relations between Sweden and Finland, and to highlight the extensive collaborations that are ongoing and that can be further developed. This applies, among other things, to crisis preparedness and civil defense, the cooperation between our defense forces, and among companies that work with innovation and green conversion. The culture and its restart after the pandemic will also be noticed in connection with the visit.”

After the reception at the Hovstallet, Their Majesties and the President and First Lady of Finland took a carriage ride through the streets of Stockholm to their final destination, the inner courtyard of the Kungliga Slottet.

Thereafter, His Majesty and President the King and President Niinistö completed the traditional Inspection of the Grenadier Company of the Life Guards as Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden as well as Their Royal Highnesses Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden looked on.

Soon, Their Majesties, the Crown Princely couple, the Prince Couple, and the President and First Lady of Finland made their way into the palace for a photo-op and speeches.

In the evening, there was a glamourous gala dinner in honor of their guests from fantastic Finland.

News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium.

On the morning of May 17, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium held an audience with the President of the Federale Neutrale Beroepsvereniging voor Verpleegkundigen and the President of the National Federation of Nurses of Belgium, on the occasion of their organizations 100th anniversaries, at the Palais Royal in Brussels.

In the afternoon, Her Majesty The Queen met with new Patented Court Providers as well as several new Holders of Existing Patented Court Providers who were appointed in 2020 and 2021 at the Palais Royal. Due to Covid-19, the handing over of the patents could not take place in these two last years. 

His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium was scheduled to participate in the meeting with new Patent Court Providers; however, due to the recent passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Al-Nahyan, His Majesty The King traveled to Abu Dhabi to convey his condolences to the new Emir and President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
