His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain Presides Over the Delivery of IV Premio Internacional Conde de Barcelona. (VIDEOS)

 

On September 25, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain presided over the delivery of the IV Premio Internacional Conde de Barcelona to His Eminence Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone held at the Real Monasterio de Santa María de Pedralbes in Barcelona.

This annual award is given to a “… person, company or institution that has been noted for his contribution to the world of communication, understood in its broadest sense…”

His Majesty’s speech during today’s event.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Attends the 25th Anniversary of the Real Asociación Amigos del Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. (VIDEO)

On September 25, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain was at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid to attend the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Real Asociación Amigos del Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.

During the celebrations a painting by Spanish painter, Mr. Eduardo Arroyo, was donated by the president of the Real Asociación Amigos del Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.

Dutch Royal Family

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Launches Kinderpostzegels 2012. (VIDEO)

On Tuesday, September 25, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was in Wassenaar to participate in the launch of Kinderpostzegels 2012 (Children’s Stamp).

According to the official site for Kinderpostzegels:

“Beginning on Wednesday, September 26, more than 200,000 school children (aged 10-12) will sell stamps, cards and children’s bandaids, door-to-door. The proceeds of the campaign will go towards creating safe homes for vulnerable children. The number of children who are not able to live with their parents is growing with each year. In the Netherlands, approx. 44,000 children and young people were placed in out- of- home- care. More than half of these children live in foster homes.”

His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex Visits Wales. Plus, Other News.

On September 24, 2012, His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex visited Wales.  Today’s agenda included a reception held at the Gwyn Hall in Neath, attending a conference entitled, Leaders of Tomorrow, and much more.

Dutch Royal Family

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the 67th United Nations General Assembly.

On September 24, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 67th United Nations General Assembly held at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.

The princess also participated in the official launch of the Better Than Cash (BTC) Alliance this afternoon. Attendees at today’s launch included the Economic Secretary of Kenya, Mr. Geoffrey Mwau as well as the Budget and Management Secretary from the Philippines, Mr. Florencio Abad, to name a few.

So, what is the BTC Alliance?  Well, it is a:

“…coalition of private institutions, governments, and international organizations committed to implementing cashless payment systems to facilitate transparency in government transactions.”

Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg

News Regarding His Royal Highness Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Comtesse Stéphanie de Lannoy.

Per a press release from La Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse:

“On the occasion of their marriage, His Royal Highness Hereditary Grand-Duke Guillaume of  Luxembourg and his fiancée, the Countess Stephanie de Lannoy, have expressed interest in supporting and develop social projects in Luxembourg. 

For this purpose, a special account, Mariage Princier – Projets sociaux au Luxembourg, were opened with the banking institutions BCEE and BIL…”
