On Tuesday, November 6, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in Ankara, Turkey for a two-day official visit.
Prior to his ceremonial welcome and meeting with the President of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül, the sovereign prince visited Anitkabir where he placed a wreath at the tomb of the late Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. After a moment of silence and the signing of the Aniktabir Special Registry Prince Albert II visited the Atatürk and War of Independence Museum.
Later in the afternoon, Prince Albert II arrived at the Cankaya Presidential Palace in Ankara where he was warmly greeted by the President of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül as well as by other government officials including the Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Taner Yildiz.
Afterward, the sovereign prince and the president held a meeting where they discussed bilateral relations, environmental issues, and much more.
The sovereign prince also participated in a “…working luncheon with Turkish Prime Minister, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, before visiting the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations…”
On Monday, November 5, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias presided over the inauguration of the Congreso Literario El Canon del Boom and to “… commemorate the 50th anniversary of the publication of the novel, La Ciudad y los Perros, and ‘Boom Latino Americano.'” Today’s event was held at Casa de América in Madrid.
On November 11, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands attended the opening of the European Youth Parliament held inside the Hall of Knights in Den Haag.
On Monday, November 5, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was at the Paleis Huis ten Bosch in Den Haag to preside over the “… swearing in of the new centrist Dutch government under Prime Minister Mark Rutte…”
The ceremony, which lasted three minutes, took place inside the Oranje Hall.

During his recent visit to Kazakhstan, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco along with the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Mr. Yerlan Idrissov, participated in the opening of the new Consulate of Monaco in Astana.
And, finally, the sovereign prince will make an official visit to Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey beginning on November 6-7, 2012.
