On October 17, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias presided over the opening of the Centro Internacional para la Investigación, el Desarrollo y la Innovación de la Lectura/Casa del Lector held at the Complejo Matadero in Madrid.

So what is Casa del Lector? Well, essentially it is a giant reading and cultural center which will also:

“…holds exhibitions, conferences, training courses, creative workshops, cycles of music, film and performing arts, and more…”

On Tuesday, October 16, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias visited the Centros Integrados de Formación Profesional (Integrated Vocational Training Centers) Juan de Colonia, Simón de Colonia, and the secondary school Camino de Santiago in Burgos, Spain.

During her visit the princess toured the three training facilities as well as participated in a meeting with:

“…center officials to discuss educational projects of different occupational groups and projects being carried out in collaboration with companies and job placement for the centers students.”
