On September 10, 2011, T.S.H.s Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco along with H.R.H. Princess Caroline of Hanover, H.R.H. Princess Alexandra of Hanover, a bald Andrea Casiraghi, and members of the De Massey family attended the 2011 Pique-nique Monegasque in Monaco.

I have no idea what the purpose of this event is all about nor I am sure the princely couple brought macaroni salad or not to the pique-nique (picnic); nevertheless, everyone in attendance seemed to have a jolly old good time.  To view photos please click here.

On September 6, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Caroline of Hanover along with her brother, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, previewed the new exhibit by photographer and filmmaker Nick Danziger entitled, War and Peace: Women in the XXI Century.

This powerful exhibit documents the lives of eleven women who are victims of conflict.  Neil Burgess, curator of the exhibit, expressed his thoughts about War and Peace: Women in the XXI Century:

Often in times of war and conflict, is the story of the lives of women that reveals the true extent of the horror. These are their stories of strength and stoicism that can inspire and excite the world and bring it to act. In telling these stories, we hope that this work will touch you and inspire you.

If you happen to be in or around Monaco you can see the works by Mr. Danziger at the Exhibition Hall 4 quay Antoine ler.  It ends of September 30, 2011.

‘The Prince and the Blogger: A Love Story’ An Article from Forbes Magazine

Here is an interesting article from the American magazine, Forbes. The journalist, Kai Falkenberg, writes about the never-ending saga between H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the cranky old man from Santa Barbara, CA who has wasted his entire golden years whining about the sovereign prince of Monaco. Ms. Falkenberg points out that the cranky old man’s purpose in life is to destroy Prince Albert as well as to “…uncover the rot at the center of the principality.”

Overall it’s a good piece by Ms. Falkenberg; moreover, commentary by the cranky old man within the article only confirms to everyone on planet Earth that he’s a giant buffoon.

Within the book there will be loads of photos along with commentary; moreover, H.S.H. Prince Albert II decided to write a preface for the book in which he states:

The union of the people and the princes of Monaco has always been the guarantor of the continuity of the Principality.  The response by the Monégasques people to the princess has been extraordinary [hmm].  Now, a new page in the history of our country has begun a new chapter in Monaco etc, etc, etc. (source)

The release date for Albert et Charlène: Un Marriage Princier is October 6, 2011.  Where can you find this book in the U.S.?  No idea.  Though you could fly to the south of France then shuffle your way to Monaco, find a bookstore, and I guarantee it will be there.   🙂
