H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Holds an Audience

On December 14, 2011, H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg held an audience with Mr.Victor F. Rashnikov at the Grand Ducal Palace. Mr.Rashnikov was sworn in as the Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in the Russian Federation prior to meeting the Grand Duke.

The Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg Host a Reception at the Palace. Plus, News Regarding Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

This afternoon at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg, T.R.H.s Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa along with Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume hosted a reception for participants in humanitarian aid missions as well as operations of peacekeeping from the Luxembourg Army and the Grand Duchy police.

Also this afternoon, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended a Christmas concert benefiting the SOS Children’s Village in Luxembourg.

H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Holds an Audience. Plus, News Regarding H.R.H. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume.

On December 6, 2011, H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg received fan audience with General Stéphane Abrial, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (ACT) of the Treaty Organization (NATO) at the Grand Ducal Palace.

Yesterday, H.R.H. Hereditary Grand Duke the company, Ceratizit.  During his visit the heir to the grand ducal throne toured the production site which produces industrial electronics, automotive stuff and petroleum.  To view photos please click here.

T.R.H.s Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg Visit the l’Atert-Lycée Redange. Plus, Other News.

On November 21, 2011, T.R.H.s Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg visited the l’Atert-Lycée Redange in Luxembourg.

After touring the campus grounds, classrooms and workshops the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess participated in a “Q & A” session with the faculty as well as students of the school.  At the end of the day, they had lunch in the cafeteria.

Meanwhile, H.R.H. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mr. Jeannot Krecké, are currently on a trade mission in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

On Sunday, the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, along with his delegation, inaugurated the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Abu Dhabi.  Also in attendance was H.R.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan and Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qassimi.

The Embassy, the first Luxembourg Embassy in an Arab country, will be headed by a non-resident ambassador, George Faber.  The opening of the Embassy is placed in the context of a reorganization in the short and medium term the Luxembourg diplomatic network to better represent the interests of the country in a changing international context. It also reflects the commitment of Luxembourg in its efforts to deepen relations with the UAE, as well as to strengthen its presence especially in the Gulf region. source

H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Visits Ho Chi Minh City

On his last day in Vietnam, H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg was in Ho Chi Minh City where he, along with his delegation, participated in several meetings. According to the Vietnamese newspaper, Vietnam Plus, at a meeting with the Chairwoman of the People’s Municipal Council, Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam:

…the Grand Duke said Luxembourg firms operating in the city are pleased with their Vietnamese partners. He said he believed the two countries’ businesses will cooperate in a positive and more effective manner.

Tam spoke highly of Luxembourg ’s assistance to Vietnam , including HCM City , hoping that Luxembourg will continue helping the city overcome difficulties such as infrastructure, traffic congestion, environmental pollution and shortage of high-quality human resources.

On the same day at the workshop, Grand Duke Henri affirmed one of his purposes in visiting is to promote business and trade ties.

Apart from Vietnamese and Luxembourg business people operating in Vietnam , the economic and financial workshop drew representatives of more than 20 Luxembourg firms accompanying the Grand Duke. They included companies operating in automatic machines, satellites, aviation, financing, investment funds, architecture, construction and eco-technology. source

H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Visits Vietnam: Day One

On November 7, 2011, H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg began his four-day official visit to Vietnam.  Accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, the Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Marie-Josée Jacobs, and the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Jeannot Krecké the Grand Duke and his delegation arrived the Presidential Palace where they were officially greeted to the country by President Truong Tan Sang.

Per the official site for the government of Luxembourg, Gouvernement du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg: 

After the official welcoming ceremony and inspection of the honor guard, the two leaders had a first exchange of views. After the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on the provision of expertise and technical assistance to the financial sector, capacity building and training was signed by the Minister of Cooperation and Action humanitarian, Marie-Josée Jacobs, and the Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, in the presence of two heads of state.

The program of HRH the Grand Duke also included meetings with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, General Secretary of the Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong and President of the National Assembly, Nguyen Sinh Hung.

For their part, members of the Government accompanying the Head of State also had interviews with their respective counterparts. On the agenda of these meetings have primarily featured bilateral relations, economic, financial and development cooperation between Vietnam and Luxembourg.

Moreover, the foreign minister of Luxembourg spoke on EU-Asia relations at the prestigious Diplomatic Academy in Hanoi. After his presentation, he had the opportunity to have discussions with teachers and students of the Academy.

Since 1995, Vietnam is a country of Luxembourg cooperation partner, who takes the form of projects including bilateral, multilateral projects and projects implemented by NGOs in Luxembourg.

Particularly in this context that HRH the Grand Duke and his delegation visited the rehabilitation center at the hospital Bach May . This project of Handicap International Luxembourg, supported by the Luxembourg Government, aims to strengthen rehabilitation services for victims of spinal cord. This project provides training of specialists assigned to spinal unit of the hospital, which will eventually become trainers in their provincial counterparts. As a reference center, and this unit will support the development of provincial centers.

HRH the Grand Duke and the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam had the opportunity to continue their discussions at a formal dinner hosted by the President in honor of the Head of State of Luxembourg.

To mark the official banquet at the Government Guest House in Hanoi, HRH the Grand Duke, first of all congratulated Vietnam for its integration into the global economy, especially its accession to the World Trade Organization ‘which has contributed to economic growth.’  source

Tomorrow, H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri will visit the National Monument of Heroes and Marthers then travel to the cities of Hue and Ho Chi Minh City on November 10, 2011.
