On Sunday, September 9, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands participated in a charity swim race entitled, CitySwim.

The race, which took place in the canals in Amsterdam, raised money for the ALS Foundation according to the Dutch network, NOS.

Over 1100 people participated in the race including Olympians Pieter van den Hoogenband, Marleen Veldhuis, and Dutch football player, Ronald de Boer, to name a few.

On Saturday, September 8, 2012, His Imperial and Royal Highness Archduke Imre Emmanuel Simeon Jean Carl Marcus d’Aviano of Austria finally married his American girlfriend, Miss Kathleen Elizabeth Walker.

The couple tied the knot at the lovely St. Mary Mother of God church in Washington D.C.  For more detailed information about the imperial wedding as well as to view lots of photos please click here.

Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend the 2012 Pique-nique des Monégasques.

On Friday, September 7, 2012, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were at the Parc Princesse Antoinette in Monaco to attend the 2012 Pique-nique des Monégasques.

According to the newspaper, Monaco Matin, over 500 guests attended yesterday’s celebrations including Baroness Elisabeth-Anne de Massy and her daughter, Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, and the Mayor of Monaco, Mr. Georges Marsan to name a few.

During the event guests listened to music, watched dancers performed, well, traditional dances, and dined on delicious food.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the 5th Anniversary of the Stichting Pet’je af.

On Friday, September 7, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 5th anniversary of the Stichting Pet’je af (Pet’je Foundation) held at the Theater De Flint in Amersfoort.  

According to RVD:

“The foundation provides children, ages 10 to 14 years, from disadvantaged situations the chance of a better future by following weekend practice oriented education to develop their talents and responsibility.  The foundation also focuses is on the development of self-reliance, resilience and social competences.”
