News Regarding His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. (VIDEO)

albertdemonacoRecently, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was nominated to take part in the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Ice Bucket Challenge, by Mr. Eddie Jordan and Mr. Brian O’Driscoll, which raises awareness for the ALS. According to the official website for the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association, the disease is:

“…a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body.

The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.”

Anyway, yesterday the sovereign prince accepted the challenge, and in the rocky region above the tiny principality of Monaco the sovereign prince dumped a bucket of ice water on his head and was doused with ice water by two of his friends.
