Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain, as Honorary President, presided over a special meeting with UNICEF España Board of Trustees this afternoon in Madrid. Her Majesty, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality, Ms. Ana Mateo, was informed about UNICEF España’s “…priorities of the organization and its strategic plan to continue to achieve results for vulnerable children.”

On April 11, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to participate in various meetings with representatives of the World Health Organization.
During her visit the princess met with the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Ms. Margaret Chan, as well as attended a “…seminar regarding public health and the environment.”

On April 10, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain continued her cooperation trip to Mozambique. Yesterday, Her Majesty accompanied by her delegation visited an arts, food and flower market in Maputo as well as an “…art and a vocational school funded by the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID).”
On April 8, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived in Mozambique for a four-day co-operation visit. The purpose of the visit is to deliver goods as well as to “…learn about the various projects that the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) is doing in the country of Mozambique.”
According to the Spanish royal court this is Her Majesty’s the sixth co-operation trip to Africa. Her Majesty, accompanied by her delegation, also transported two tons of pharmaceutical and nutritional products donated by the Foundation Reina Sofía and Laboratorios Normon.
Yesterday, Her Majesty traveled to Manhiça where she visited a research facility and health center which is funded by the AECID.
On April 10, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias visited the region of Pallars Jussà, Lleida, on the occasion of the centennial of the first hydroelectric facilities in central Cataluña according to the Spanish royal court.
