Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at Sala Hipóstila at the Biblioteca Nacional in Madrid this afternoon to view the new exhibition entitled, La Transición en Tinta China.
Curated by Professor Francisco J.B. de la Peña from the Universidad Complutense, the exhibit displays over 200 works by 80 different cartoonists. Yes, cartoonists. According to various sources La Transición en Tinta China:
“…takes a historic look at the period of the political transition in Spain through the works of some of the leading cartoonists of the day. From the years before the death of Franco, cartoonists, through new publications, stretch the limits of censorship and offer their readers the fruit of their expressive talent and his satirical wit.
What was the vision of these artists on the political transition? What contributed to it? This is the account that offers exposure in this exhibit which will be open to the public until August 25, 2013.”

Late yesterday afternoon the judge presiding over the infamous Instituto Nóos case, Judge José Castro, has “…asked the [Spanish] tax agency for information to determine whether Cristina engaged in tax evasion or money laundering between 2007 and 2010…” according to Reuters.
Earlier this month the Spanish court on Palma de Mallorca withdrew a subpoena against Infanta Cristina which was initiated by Judge José Castro. The old judge wanted the infanta to appear in court as a witness to the investigation of her shady husband, Mr. Iñaki Urdangarín, the Duke of Palma, and his former business partner, Mr. Diego Torres. Urdangarín and Torres are accused of embezzlement, fraud, misuse of public funds, and forgery from the non-profit organization they once presided over, Instituto Nóos.
