His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias Inaugurates a New High-Speed Train Route. (VIDEO)

On Monday, June 17, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias accompanied by the Prime Minister of Spain, Mr. Mariano Rajoy, and dozens of other government officials participated in the inauguration of the AVE Madrid-Alicante high-speed train route. And, that’s it.

Oh, wait!  He also unveiled two new shiny plaques commemorating today’s opening and gave a speech.   🙂

On June 14, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Alhóndiga in Bilbao, Spain to participate in the 4th Edition of the World Cities Summit Mayors Forum.

This three-day gathering is basically a meeting in which mayors from around the world get together to discuss various issues and problems at the municipal level. Anyway, the theme of this year’s forum is Liveable And Sustainable Cities: Common Challenges, Shared Solutions.

On June 6, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Monasterio de San Salvador de Leyre in Navarra, Spain, to preside over the 2013 Premio Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura.  The recipient of the prize was Mr. Daniel Innerarity, a Spanish writer and philosopher. The prize of 25,000 Euros is financed by the Cultural Department of the Government of Navarra.

Afterward, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Olloki, a neighborhood in Navarra, to tour the new facilities of the pharmaceutical firm, Cinfa.

His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias Participates in a Conference.

conferenceOn the morning of June 3, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Palacio de Congresos in Girona to participate in the inauguration of the 1st Congreso Bienal sobre Seguridad Jurídica y Democracia en Iberoamérica.

This three-day conference brings together academics as well as individuals involved in the legal professions in Spain and Latin America.  The purpose of the conference is to ensure that the judicial systems in Spain and Latin America promotes economic growth while ensuring social justice.
