His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias attended the inauguration of Paraguay’s new President, Mr. Horacio Cartes, this afternoon in Asunción.
Afterward, the prince along with hundreds of Paraguayan government officials, heads of state and foreign delegations attended a reception for President Cartes at Palacio de Lopez.
On Wednesday, August 14, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrivedin Asunción, Paraguay to attend the inauguration of the newly elected President, Mr. Horacio Cartes. The inauguration will take place on Thursday, August 15.
Upon his arrival at the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport Prince Felipe accompanied by his delegation — which includes the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and for Latin America, Mr. Jesús Gracia and Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly and European Parliament member, Mr. José Salafranca Sánchez-Neyra — were warmly welcomed by several Paraguayan government officials.
Afterward, Prince Felipe arrived at the Palacio de los López in Asunción to meet with the outgoing President, Mr. Frederico Franco. Thereafter, the prince and his delegation attended a reception held in his honor at the Spanish Embassy.
In the evening, Prince Felipe attended yet another reception at Palacio de los López hosted by President Franco for various heads of state and foreign delegations attending tomorrow’s inauguration.
On August 12, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Fundación Joana Barceló in Palma on the island of Mallorca to visit the facilities of the organization, Cáritas Mallorca. The organization aids the socially and economically disadvantaged.
On August 9, 2013, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain welcomed the Prime Minister of Spain, Mr. Mariano Rajoy, to the Palacio de Marivent in Palma on the island of Mallorca to hold a meeting.
After their meeting, His Majesty and Prime Minister Rajoy briefly met with the press, and then attended a luncheon in which His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias was also present.
On the evening of August 6, 2013, Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain accompanied by Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena of Spain and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias hosted a gala dinner at Palacio Real de La Almudaina in Palma on the island of Mallorca for various Illes Balears government officials.
On August 6, 2013, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain held audiences at Palacio Real de La Almudaina in Palma on the island of Mallorca with various government officials including the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Ms. Maria Salom, the President of the Parliament of the Illes Balears, Ms. Margalida Durán i Cladera, and the President and Governor of the Illes Balears, Mr. José Ramón Bauzá Díaz, to name a few.
And, finally, yesterday afternoon Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias accompanied by their two daughters, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, visited La Granja in Esporles — just north of Palma — on the island of Mallorca. During their visit the family toured the museum and farmwhere they met cute little animals.
