Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias Inaugurates the 1st Congreso Internacional Contra la Violencia de Género. (VIDEOS)

On the morning of November 5, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Auditorio Fundacion Canal in Madrid to participate in the inauguration of the 1st Congreso Internacional Contra la Violencia de Género.

Today’s conference, held under the theme Nuevas Formas de Violencia, was organized by the Gobierno Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid in collaboration with the Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIAPP), the Fundación Canal de Isabel II, the Fundación La Caixa and the United States Embassy in Spain according to the Spanish royal court.

After the conference Princess Letizia participated in a meeting with representatives from the Red de Atención Integral para la Violencia de Género de la Comunidad de Madrid.

Another Operation for His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain.

juanOn Monday, November 4, 2013, the Spanish royal court announced that His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain will have another operation on November 21, 2013, at Hospital Quirón in Madrid.

According to the Spanish news agency, EFE, His Majesty will:

“…undergo the second surgical procedure needed to implant a permanent prosthesis in his left hip.  Dr. Miguel Cabanela, who removed the monarch’s infected left hip prosthesis on Sept. 24, will perform the operation…”

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Attends the Première of ‘Manzanas, Pollos y Quimeras’ (VIDEO)

spainOn October 29, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Cine Callao in Madrid to attend the première of the documentary, Manzanas, Pollos y Quimeras, by Ms. Inés París.

The film documents the lives of several African women who relocated to Spain, their reasons for coming, how they have adapted to living in a new country, and the struggles as well as the success they have achieved in Spain.
