On August 5, 2014, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain accompanied by their two daughters, Their Royal Highnesses Infanta Leonore and Infanta Sofia, met with the press outside Palacio de Marivent on the island of Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
The royal family will remain on holiday on the lovely island for the next several days.
On Tuesday, July 22, 2014, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived in Paris, France, for a one-day official visit.
After landing at the airport where they were warmly welcomed to France by various government officials Their Majesties arrived at the Palais de l’Élysée to attend a luncheon held in their honor and hosted by the President of France, Mr. François Hollande.
In the afternoon, Their Majesties attended a meeting at the Assemblée Nationale with the Président de l’Assemblée Nationale, Mr. Claude Bartolone, and met with the Prime Minister of France, Mr. Manuel Valls, at the Hôtel Matignon.
On Monday, July 21, 2014, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived at the Palacio Real de El Pardo in Madrid to meet with 200 students participating in the program, Ruta BBVA 2014.
On July 3, 2014, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain arrived at the Biblioteca Nacional de España in Madrid to attend the opening of the exhibition, Diseñar América: El Trazado Español de los Estados Unidos.
According to the official website for Biblioteca Nacional de España this unique exhibition:
“…brings together, under the same looking glass, Spain’s ample contribution to the construction of the United States territory, landscape and cities, presenting this as a living legacy under constant renovation. This is, therefore, a fluid dialogue between past and present illustrated by more than 70 original works from the collections of the National Library of Spain, the Spanish General Military Archive and the Archives of the Spanish Naval Museum.”
On Friday, July 4, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain arrived at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos in Madrid to attend the 150th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Fundación de Cruz Roja Española and the annual commemoration of the Día Mundial de la Cruz Roja and the Media Luna Roja.
On Thursday, July 3, 2014, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain held an audience at Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid with representatives from the European Australian Business Council (EABC).
On Thursday, July 3, 2014, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived at the Casa de America in Madrid to preside over the delivery of Becas y Ayudas a la Investigación of the Fundación Iberdrola (Investigation Scholarships of the Iberdrola Foundation).
