On Monday, June 8, 2015, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain attended the inauguration of Agua y Saneamiento: Un Reto Compartido en América Latina held at the Casa de América in Madrid.
Today’s opening meeting was organized by the Cooperación Española and the Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID).
On June 2, 2015, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived in Paris, France for a three-day state visit. Upon their arrival at the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile the reigning couple were warmly welcomed to the City of Lights by the President of France, Mr. François Hollande, and other government officials.
After a meeting with President Hollande and photo-op for the press at the Palais de l’Élysée Their Majesties arrived at the Grand Palais Galeries Nationales to view the exhibition, Velázquez and the Triumph of Spanish Painting.
This evening King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will attend a dinner, held in their honor, at the Palais de l’Élysée hosted by President Hollande.
On May 26, 2015, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain officially opened the 12th Edition of the Carbon Expo Trade Fair and Conference held at the Fira de Barcelona.
The three-day event has become the “…leading platform for progressive businesses, finance and governments, facilitating innovation, promoting enhanced understanding of new policy instruments and identifying ways to access and leverage climate finance, especially between countries facing comparable challenges…”
On May 22, 2015, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the Oath of Allegiance of the Royal Guards ceremony held at the El Rey Barracks at El Pardo in Madrid.
On the morning of May 18, 2015, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain held various audiences at Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid.
The reigning couple met with representatives from the Spanish magazine, Semena. The well-known publishing house is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year. Later, Their Majesties met with members of the Fundación Comité Español de los Colegios del Mundo Unido and representatives from several companies who are collaborating with the Alianza para la Formación Profesional Dual, an initative of the Fundación Bertelsmann, la Fundación Princesa de Girona, la Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales (CEOE), and the Cámara de Comercio de España.
On Thursday, May 14, 2015, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan attended the 57th International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen in Aachen, Germany.
The prize “…honors exceptional work performed in the service of European unity. According to its bylaws, it is given to public figures or bodies ‘distinguished by their outstanding work toward European unity or cooperation between its states.’ “
Dr. Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, was presented with the prize for his efforts as an “…outstanding mentor of a united Europe who has earned important and lasting merits for his efforts towards a strengthening of parliament, parliamentarianism, and democratic legitimation in the EU.”
