On Tuesday, August 13, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan visited the Civil Defense Department in Amman.
During their visit His Majesty and the crown prince met with Lt. General Talal Al-Kofahi who informed them about the “…civil defense duties and achievements, the developmental projects as part of the strategic plan which included bilateral agreements with other civil defense departments…” according to Petra News.
This morning His Majesty met with the United States Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, at Al-Hummar Palace in Amman. During their meeting discussions focused on cooperation and coordination between the Jordanian and United States Armed Forces and ways to strengthen bilateral ties.
On Wednesday, July 31, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan arrived in Kuwait to meet with His Highness The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The purpose of His Majesty’s brief visit is to discuss bilateral ties, issues concerning the Middle East and the Syrian crisis.
Prior to his trip to Kuwait, His Majesty visited the Jordanian Armed Forces headquarters where he met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mashal Al Zaben.
According to Petra News, His Majesty was “…briefed on programs implemented by the army and issued directives regarding a number of issues of concern to the armed forces.”
On July 25, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held an audience with the Japanese Foreign Minister of Affairs, Mr. Fumio Kishida, at Al Hummar Palace in Amman.
Discussions focused on the Syrian crisis, bilateral ties and the “…need to increase cooperation between Japan and Jordan specifically in the fields of energy and industry…” according to Petra News.
His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan hosted an Iftar banquet at the Royal Court on July 21, 2013, in Amman for “…tribal elders, dignitaries and community representatives of Karak, Rafilah, Ma’an and Aqaba…”
Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness Princess Muna al Hussein hosted her own Iftar banquet this evening for board members of the Jordanian Nursing Council board members, and Jordanian Ministers of Health and Higher Education to name a few guests. The banquet was held at the King Hussein Club in Amman.
On July 22, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan participated in a meeting with the “…committee in charge if developing the Foster Care Guidebook. Her Majesty also toured a foster home, run by Al Hussein Social Institute, and met with a foster family in Amman.”
On Monday, July 22, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan visited the Public Security Department in Amman, Jordan.
During the visit General Tawfiq Tawalbeh informed His Majesty on the “…efforts to develop performance of staff of police units especially those who work on problem solving crimes…” according to Petra News.
Later in the afternoon, His Majesty arrived in Al Yasmeen to officially open the new Forensic Science Laboratory Department building. During his tour of the facility His Majesty was informed about the “…role of criminology in supporting investigations and on major cases that have been solved with the use of modern technology…”
On the evening of Saturday, July 20, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan attended an Iftar banquet hosted by the Jordanian Armed Forces.
Earlier in the day, His Majesty was in Cairo, Egypt to met with Egyptian interim President, Mr. Adly Mansour, and Egyptian interim Vice-President, Mr. Mohammed El Baradei.
During yesterday’s meeting, which lasted only a few hours, His Majesty King Abdullah II and interim President Mansour discussed “…ways of cementing Jordanian-Egyptian ties and the political developments in Egypt and the region…” according to Petra News.
