Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan Visits the QRTA. (VIDEO)

On Tuesday, January 14, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) in Amman.  The academy“…advances education in Jordan and throughout the Middle East by providing teachers access to training, professional support, and the latest research on educational methods and policies.”

According to Petra News, Her Majesty “…attended part of a session on ‘performance evaluation’ which mostly included teachers from public schools and a few educators from private schools…”

On January 8, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan arrived at the Fann wa Chai Cafe and Art Gallery in Amman to met with the founder the initiative, Go Local, Support Local, as well as with “…representatives from different sectors that the initiative supports.”

According to Petra News, Go Local, Support Local is an: 

“…initiative that aims to create awareness about the importance of supporting local industries and re-injecting money back into the Jordanian economy.

The founder of Go Local, Support Local, Ms. Luma Qadoumi, explained [to Her Majesty] that the initiative mainly supports four industries: businesses, services and startups, farmers and producers, community based organizations, as well as artists and musicians.

By supporting Jordan’s economy, the initiative channels money back into the local economy, thus, creating more jobs. It also aims at diversifying opportunities for local employment and stopping brain drain, helping local entrepreneurships survive, pushing local businesses to outperform foreign competitors, and creating a connection between consumers and businesses with the local community.”

On Sunday, January 5, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan presided over the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) ceremony in Amman.

According to Petra News, the YEP:

“…seeks to enhance the values of democracy, en-root democratic practices in society and push forward the development process.  During the ceremony [His Majesty and the crown prince] watched two films that highlighted the launch of the initiative and subsequent practical measures in its implementation and the winners of the initiative’s first session who represented the sectors of youth and civil society organizations.”

And, finally, this afternoon, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan arrived in Marka where she visited an “…orphan care center at the Hamzah Bin Abdul Muttalib Society.”  

Thereafter, Her Majesty arrived in Amman where she visited the Dar Al Aytam Society.  Whilst there Her Majesty met with “…orphans benefitting from the Dar Al Aytam society and checked on the services they receive from the society and its school.”

On Wednesday, December 18, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held an audience at Al-Hummar Palace in Amman with the President of the Arab Parliament, Mr. Ahmad Jarwan, and with an “…accompanying delegation currently participating in a conference of the Arab Parliament whose committees began meetings in Amman earlier this week…” according to Petra News.

His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Visits Brussels, Belgium.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan arrived in Brussels, Belgium for a visit.

Today, His Majesty attended a luncheon meeting at the Palais de Bruxelles with His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium.  During the luncheon the two kings discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, the Syrian crisis and ways to strengthen bilateral ties between Jordan and Belgium.

His Majesty King Abdullah II also visited the headquarters of the European Council.  Whilst there His Majesty held a meeting with the President of the European Council, Mr. Herman van Rompuy, and with the President of the European Commission, Mr. José Barroso.

His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Receives Credentials. (VIDEO)

On Tuesday, December 3, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan received credentials from six newly appointed ambassadors to Jordan at Al-Hummar Palace in Amman.

Prior to receiving the credentials His Majesty watched as the Royal Jordanian Guard of Honor and the military band played the national anthem of Jordan in the courtyard at the palace according to Petra News.
