His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Participates in a Conference in Den Haag.

drfcoa His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was in Den Haag this morning to participate in the international conference WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Post-2012, organized by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.

According to RVD, the prince was invited to participate in today’s event in his “… capacity as Chairman of UNSGAB, the Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.”

The WASH Post-2012 conference focuses on:

“… the period after 2015 and attempts by some 80 experts from international organizations to come to the setting of new targets after 2015 and indicators to monitor progress with regards to clean drinking and water sanitation.”

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands Attends the Prijs der Nederlandse Letteren. (VIDEO)

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands attended the Prijs der Nederlandse Letteren (Dutch Literature Award/Prize) held at the Paleis Amsterdam on November 30, 2012.

According to RVD, the Prijs der Nederlandse Letteren is held once every three years and the prize is worth 40,000 Euros.  The recipient of the prize went to Flemish poet, Mr. Leonard Nolens.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the 2012 International Supply Management Congress.

 Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at the RAI in Amsterdam on November 29, 2012, to attend the 2012 International Supply Management Congress(ISMC).  According to RVD, the  ISMC is:

“… an international knowledge and network meeting for the purchase sector and supply chain management aimed at sustainable and innovative entrepreneurship …”

 Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands gave the opening speech at a symposium marking the 10th anniversary of the Prince Claus Chair held at the Paleis Noordeinde on November 28, 2012.

According to RVD:

“The Prince Claus Chair in Development and Equity was established by Utrecht University and the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam in early 2003 in honor of Prince Claus of the Netherlands (1926-2002).

The establishment of the Chair attests to the deep respect and appreciation of the academic community of Utrecht University and the ISS (now part of Erasmus University Rotterdam) for Prince Claus as a person, for his work, and for his commitment to, and authority in, the field of development and equity throughout the world.”

News Regarding Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands. (VIDEO)

On Tuesday, November 27, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was in Den Bosch to attend “… the presentation of the 1000th Apprenticeship in the framework of the Regional Action Plan (RAP) conference…” according to RVD.

The RAP helps students find apprenticeships “… which they are qualified for…”   Click here to watch a video news report (in Dutch).

And, finally, the princess made a brief visit to the dance and theatre company, Shake It! Academy of Project Waa, in Nijmegen.  During her visit Princess Maxima held a meeting with employees of the company to discuss “… future plans for the academy …”

On Monday, November 26, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 2012 Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Prijs held at the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ in Amsterdam.

Per RVD:

“The Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Prize is awarded to individuals and organizations that have made an exceptional contribution in the field of music, theatre, dance, the visual arts, history, literature, the conservation of monuments and historic buildings, cultural education or nature conservation.”

This year’s recipient went to fashion trend forecaster, Ms. Lidewij Edelkoort.
