During today’s opening Princess Maxima gave a speech as well a met with various attending the WOMEN Inc., festival.
His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was in Eindhoven on February 6, 2013, to visit the company, VDL ETG Group.
According to RVD:
“The VDL Group operates in the sector of supply includes modules for the semiconductor industry, bus manufacturer and supplier of various end products such as packaging. The products that the VDL Group makes relate to metal, plastic and engineering. ”
Upon his arrival at VDL ETG in Eindhoven the Prince Willem-Alexander was warmly greeted by representatives of VDL ETG then given a tour of the facility. During his visit he was “…informed about the history of the family business and the current position of the company which currently employs 9,000 individuals operating in 18 countries.” The prince also met with various employees in which he “…talked to them about their work.”
“… an employment program for socially-isolated men, organized by the Centre for Services (CVD). Participants of Real Men are often socially isolated, unemployed, have debts or dealing with addiction. The purpose of the six-month process of Genuine Men’s underlying problems, their own talents to tap and the men again prospect through structural and meaningful activities. This is done through weekly group meetings, trainings and workshops. Yet during or immediately after starting the program group participants volunteering”
During his visit the future King of the Netherlands met with participants of this important program as well as organizers and staff of Real Men.

On February 1, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands accompanied by Prince Maurtis and Princess Marilène, Prince Bernhard and Princess Annette, Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, Princess Mabel as well as employees of the Dutch royal house and distinguished guests gathered together at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands 75th birthday.
The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam opened a new exhibit this afternoon in honor of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Beatrix Regina showcases 30 photos, public and private, of the life and work of Her Majesty.
