On Monday, June 2, 2014, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan continued their visit to the Niigata Prefecture on the island of Honshu.
Yesterday afternoon the imperial couple visited the Kariyatagawa Disaster Prevention Park in Mitsuke City.
On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived at the Schiphol Airport in The Netherlands to begin his two-day official visit.
This morning the sovereign prince held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mr. Mark Rutte, in Den Haag. The sovereign prince also met with “…Ms. Anouchka van Miltenburg and Ms. Ankie Broekers-Knol, the presidents of the House of Representatives and Senate of the Netherlands…” according to AFP News.
On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain and His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Real Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Madrid to attend a ceremony to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Real y Militar Orden de San Hermenegildo.
According to the Spanish royal court, the Real y Militar Orden de San Hermenegildo is “…both a general and military honor and a legion created by King Fernando VII of Spain at the conclusion of the Spanish War of Independence in 1814.”
On Monday, June 2, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark hosted a reception, held on the occasion of Prince Henrik’s 80th birthday, at the Orangery at Fredensborg Slot.
During this afternoon’s event a new portrait by Danish artist, Mr. Mikael Melbye, of the lovable prince was unveiled.
On Monday, June 2, 2014, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales visited the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon where he “…[met with] young people involved with education work as part of the Learning and Performance network, and view[ed] a short performance of Henry IV by Stratford students…” according to Clarence House.

Now that His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain has announced that he will abdicate the throne in favor of his awesome son, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias, I suppose now is the perfect time to post this documentary by RTVE entitled, Juan Carlos I, Rey Constitucional.
