On Monday, February 10, 2014, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan arrived at the Edo-Tokyo Museum in Sumida-ku Tokyo to view a special exhibition which displays items that survived the March 11, 2011, 9.0 earthquake off the Tōhoku coast and the devastating tsunami that followed.

European Royals Attend the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
On Friday, February 7, 2014, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the Sochi Winter Olympics opening ceremony held at the Fisht Olympic Stadium. The princely couple along with thousands in the stands cheered as athletes from around the world entered the stadium.
Other royals were in attendance during today’s opening ceremony including Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, His Royal Highness Prince Felix of Luxembourg, and Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

On February 6, 2014, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark officially opened the exhibition entitled, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Bernard: Dramaet i Arles, at the Museet Ordrupgaard in Charlottenlund.
This special exhibition showcases various works by the late Vincent van Gogh, Émile Bernard, and Paul Gauguin.

On February 6, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Palacio de Carlos V in Granada to view the exhibition, Arte y Culturas de al-Andalus: El Poder de la Alhambra.
The exhibition highlights the “…thousand year history of the kingdom of Granada and the importance of Andalusían culture…” according to the newspaper, La Informacion.
