Members of the British Royal Family Enjoy Day 12 of the London Olympics.

On August 8, 2012, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge attended the semi-finals of Women’s Field Hockey held at the Riverbank Arena in London.  The lovely duchess cheered on Team GB who were playing against Team Argentina.  The final score: 2-1, Argentina.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales enjoyed Beach Volleyball held at Horse Guards Parade.  One of the highlights of today’s event in Beach Volleyball was the Women’s Gold Medal Final. So who played? Team USA versus Team USA.  Yes, you read that right.   🙂

Two-time Olympic gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings dominated April Ross and Jen Kessy for the gold medal.  In the end, Misty and Kerri won the game.  Yay!   🙂

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Presents Medals to the Winners of the Women’s Pole Vault. Plus, Other News.

On Monday, August 7, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was at the Olympic Stadium in London to present medals to the winners of the Women’s Pole Vault Final.

Ms. Jennifer Suhr of Team USA won the gold while Ms. Silvia Yarisley of Team Cuba won the silver.  Ms. Yelena Isinbayeva of Team Russian Federation won the bronze.

In other news, the sovereign prince attended the Men’s Triathlon yesterday morning to cheer on Mr. Herve Banti of Team Monaco.  Mr. Banti came in 49th place with a time of 1:52.42.

And, finally, tonight the sovereign prince may attend the highly anticipated Women’s Gold Match in Beach Volleyball.  Why?  Well, according to the sovereign prince he is a big fan of Beach Volleyball and has been to several matches during these Summer Olympic Games.

Anyway, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh-Jennings will compete against April Ross and Jen Kessy.  If you haven’t figured it out by now the match is Team USA vs Team USA.  Or, as many have been referring to the upcoming match “The SoCal Showdown”.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales Attends Track Cycling at the Velodrome.

On the afternoon of August 7, 2012, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence along with  His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales, Mr. Peter Phillips, Their Royal Highnesses Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice watched various Track Cycling competitions held at the Velodrome in London.  Oh yeah, Sarah Ferguson was there as well.

Anyway…

As always Team GB dominated many of today’s heats including the highly anticipated Men’s Keirin Final.  Sir Chris Hoy won the gold medal while Maximillan Levy of Team Germany won the silver.  So who won the bronze medal?  It was a tie.  Simon van Velthooven of Team New Zealand and Teun Mulder of Team Netherlands shared the bronze.

In the Women’s Sprint Final Anna Meares of Team Australia captured the gold whole Victoria Pendleton of Team GB won the silver. Shuang Guo of Team China gladly won the bronze.

His Majesty King Constantine of Greece Presents Medals to the Winners of the Men’s Laser Race (Sailing)

On August 6, 2012, in Weymouth, England His Majesty King Constantine of Greece presented medals to the winners of the Men’s Laser Single Hand Race (Sailing). Tom Slingsby of Team Australia won the gold medal.  Pavlos Kontides of Team Cyprus won the silver and Rasmus Myrgren won the bronze.

Prior to the medal ceremony His Majesty watched several races including the Women’s Laser Radial.  Also, watching the race were Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence along with Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge. The lovely duchess also met with members of the Team GB sailing team.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and Members of the Dutch Royal Family Enjoy the London Olympics.

After watching various Track and Field events this morning at the Olympic Stadium in London, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco headed on over to Greenwich Park to meet up with Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands.

The longtime friends cheered on Team Netherlands as they participated in the Equestrian events of Individual and Team Jumping.  Once again, Team Netherlands can proudly take home another medal.  The team won the silver medal in the Team Jumping Final. While Team GB won the gold medal and Team Saudi Arabia captured the bronze.

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attend a Field Hockey Match.

On August 5, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the Men’s Group B, Match #22, Field Hockey Match at the Riverbank Arena in London.

The royal family cheered on Team Netherlands who were playing against Team Germany.  Once again, the Dutch dominated.  The final score: 3-1.
