Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Presides Over the 8th Simposio Internacional “Avances en la enfermedad de Alzheimer” (VIDEO)

On Friday, September 21, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the 8th Simposio Internacional “Avances en la Enfermedad de Alzheimer” (8th International Symposium “Advances in Alzheimer’s Disease) held at the Centro Alzheimer de la Fundación Reina Sofía.

The purpose of the meeting was to bring together scientists, researchers, Neurologists, and institutions to discuss “… the latest findings in their research on Alzheimer’s disease and their application to treatment.”

The Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco Donates Money to the Qikiqtani Inuit Association.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco is currently in Canada for a visit. Yesterday, the sovereign prince was in Iqaluit where he toured Nunatta Sunakkutaangit museum as well as took part in a nature walk at Apex Rotary Park with Ms. Okalik Eegeesiak, President of the Qikiqtani Inuit Association, and Ms.  Alacie Joamie.

Today, it was announced that the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, in collaboration with Oceans North Canada, will donate money to the Qikiqtani Inuit Association to protect as well as “…support two new projects on the future of the Lancaster Sound.”

Prince Albert II noted in a press release:

“…importance of the long term viability of marine resources to Inuit and we agree that Inuit must retain a leadership role in the protection of this marine region.”

The sovereign prince is scheduled to visit the Inuit community of Kuujjuaq located in Nunavik, Quebec, this afternoon.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Visits Canada.

On September 20, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada.

On his first day the sovereign prince went on a nature walk with Qikiqtani Inuit Association President, Ms. Okalik Eegeesiak and Ms. Alacie Joamie, according to CBC reporter, Ms. Emily Ridlington.  During his walk, Ms. Ridlington noted that the sovereign prince “…learned about the sensitive marine Arctic environment…”

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, Prince Albert II is also scheduled to meet with Mayor of Iqaluit, Ms. Madeleine Redfern, as well as “… students from the Nunavut Arctic College…”  Prince Albert II will also “… make an announcement with Oceans North Canada and the Qikiqtani Inuit Association on behalf of his foundation (the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco), which supports environmental conservation projects…” during his trip.

On Friday, the sovereign prince is scheduled to visit the Inuit community of Kuujjuaq located in Nunavik, Quebec.

Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Visit Croydon. (VIDEO)

On September 20, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Croydon  to see “… how the community has recovered since the August 2011 riots.”

During their visit the royal couple attended the inauguration of the new University Center at Croydon College and met with “…local dignitaries…” at the Croydon Voluntary Action Resource Center.
