T.R.H.s Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias in Armilla, Spain (VIDEO)

On October 13, 2011 T.R.H.s Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias were in Armilla, Spain to attend the inauguration of the Campus Party Milenio.  Per Casa de Su Majestad el Rey (a rough translation):

T.R.H.s Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia were in Armilla, Spain to preside over the inauguration of the Campus Party Milenio as part of celebrations for the millennium of the founding of the Kingdom of Granada, where he encouraged the generation of so-called ‘digital natives’ to ‘contribute significantly to the effects of ICTs” are geared increasingly towards sustained economic development, promoting entrepreneurship, international cooperation and a culture of universal respect for human rights.’

‘For several days going to share and exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas, not only in the field of new technologies and communications, in fact, become runway and an instrument of your projects-but in all it has to do with your concerns with your life and professional goals,’ said His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, accompanied by Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Miguel Sebastián, the government delegate in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Luis Garcia Garrido, the Mayor of Armidale, Antonio Ayllon, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Society, Juan Junquera, and the Minister of Presidency of the Junta de Andalucía and president of the Consortium for the Commemoration of the First Millennium Foundation the Kingdom of Granada, Mar Moreno, among other authorities.

Prince Felipe explained that ‘the model of ‘Campus Party’, an event that promotes networked digital culture in its broadest expression, innovation, technology, creativity, leisure is a splendid framework to implement and promote these objectives.’ He also warned of ‘power and influence of new forms of communication’ and ‘you have assumed responsibility toward others and toward yourself, in the strict and proper use of tools so influential.’

‘Meetings such as the” Millennium Campus Party are, in short, excellent opportunity to promote talent and innovation in a multicultural environment as shown in this room,’ said His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, who recalled that ‘this format singular meeting-virtual and real at the same time, just gave his first steps in Andalucía for nearly fifteen years, probably reflecting the important position achieved by Spain in the field of ICT, as shown particularly high rates of our band access wide.’

After the inauguration, Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess of Asturias, began a tour of the Millennium Campus Party, where they could visit the area of Science, the Millennium Mod visited the Millennium Balloons project, the area of computer stations and innovation area, where they explained certain projects to be funded by the incubator Wayra. Subsequently able to visit the so-called “campus future”, where they saw the Icub humanoid robot and photovoltaic power, and in the Expo area, visited the stands of the consortium Science Park, Granada, GAES Hearing Centres, Guadalinfo and Movistar.

This event served as a meeting point and crossroads of cultures, where they come together innovation, technology, internet, science, democracy and peace. During the event were released the latest in technology, robotics and astronomy, and will showcase our entrepreneurs and an opportunity for the future.

According to organizers, Campus Party is today, the event technology and world’s largest internet in the areas of Innovation, Creativity, Science and Digital Entertainment. After 15 years of existence, has become the standard and essential event for understanding the new information technologies. In addition to editing known by all to be held in Valencia, the event went international with celebrations in cities around the world.

Millennium Campus Party, held at the fairgrounds in FERMASA (Armilla, Granada) between 12 and 16 October, addressed issues affecting the social reality that is experiencing the globalized world, focused on the Mediterranean. Millennium Campus Party spoke of innovation and leisure, democracy, social realities that occur in Mediterranean countries, the environment, cultures and put in relation with the common and unifying axis of digital culture and innovation.

Granada was for five days, the focus of the digital world, with the concentration of more than 600 guests that will ensure their presence through its work in the digital world in their respective countries. It has also undertaken a selection process through a collaborative network in which the value placed on innovative projects that were presented at this event.

The province of Granada already have work and experience in innovation and technology, examples such as the Sierra Nevada Observatory, the Health Technology Park, the resort Andasol, the Institute for Astrophysics and others too numerous to mention, make Granada provinces is more implementation has the ICT sector in economic activity.

In turn, thanks to internet and online video, Internet users could follow the event and interact in the same through social networks. The contents are spread not only in Spanish but also English and French. It also housed an exhibition area of the technology companies brought into contact with the participants of this issue and other public area of exhibition of scientific and technological, open to the public.

Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg News Regarding The Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume

On October 13, 2011, H.R.H. The Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg visited the successful company, Airtech Europe, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary.  During his time at the company headquarters he had a chance to review the production lines as well as the warehouses.

Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg News Regarding H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri and Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume

Meanwhile, H.R.H. The Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume visited Delphi Automotive Systems to honor as well as celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary.  Whilst there the prince visited development workshops and then launched the “Fuel Handling Labor” (no idea what that is, sorry.)  Delphi Automotive Systems operates in the areas of developing energy systems and motors for the automotive industry and has now opened its new laboratory tests with aims to reduce CO2 emissions. H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco Attends the Golden Podium Awards

On October 11, 2011, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the Golden Podium Awards, presented by Sportel Monaco, held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo.  The prince along with hundreds of CEOs from the world of sports, radio and television as well as famous athletes from around the world enjoyed themselves as they watched the ceremony.

The Spanish Royal Family Celebrate National Day in Madrid

Members of the royal family of Spain participated in the celebrations of National Day in Madrid this afternoon.  Per the official site for the royal house, Casa de Su Majestad el Rey:

His Majesty the King, accompanied by Her Majesty the Queen, Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess of Asturias HRH the Infanta Elena and Her Royal Highness Princess Cristina and her husband Don Iñaki Urdangarin, Dukes of Palma, presided over the acts that were held to mark National Day.

The main event of this national holiday was an act of homage to the National Flag, which was held at the Plaza de Neptuno, along with a military parade, which ran from the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V and the Plaza de Colón , involving more than 3,000 troops, 147 vehicles and 55 aircraft of the Armed Forces.

His Majesty King Juan Carlos and Her Majesty Queen Sofia, the Prince and Princess of Asturias, the Princesses Elena and Cristina and Don Iñaki Urdangarin, came to the Plaza de Neptuno escorted by a squadron of the Royal Guard were welcomed by the Prime Minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. Next, they were greeted by Defence Minister, Carme Chacon Piqueras, the president of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, the mayor of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón Jiménez, the Chief of Defense Staff, General Jose Julio air Rodriguez Fernandez, the delegate of the Government in Madrid, Maria Dolores Carrion Martin, and President of the Assembly of Madrid, José Ignacio Echevarría Echániz.

A battalion of the Royal Guard was charged with saluting, later, His Majesty reviewed the troops and members of the Royal Family were greeted by the presidents of the autonomous assistants, senior government officials, members of the Government and Defence authorities.

The events began with the grounding of a team of Air Force paratroopers carrying a flag. Then the National Show, moved by three royal guards, representatives of the three armies, and a civil guard, was hoisted to the strains of the National Anthem. Then began the tribute to those who gave their lives for Spain. Music Unit of the Royal Guard performed “Death is not the end”, whose bars were made portacoronas scripts and movements, and the offering was made a Crown of Laurel.

After the call to prayer, overflight Patrol “Eagle” Air Army of the Paseo de la Castellana, who drew in the sky the colors of the national flag, and a fusillade by a company of the Royal Guard, started the parade, during which the Group Command paraded a motorized group, an armored/mechanized units on foot, horseback units and a flyover.

After the parade, members of the Royal Family were dismissed by the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defense Staff, to be transferred to the Royal Palace, which hosted the traditional reception on the occasion of National Day.

The royal family received Saleta Gasparini in greeting the representatives of the branches of government: Prime Minister, Speaker, Senate President, President of the Constitutional Court , Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Judicial Council. Then they moved to the Hall of Columns and halberdiers, where other guests greeted the members of all walks of public life nationwide.

On this occasion, the main events on the Day of National Day have been supplemented by a program of activities which involved six ministries (Defence, Culture, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, Health, Social Policy and Equality of the Presidency), with its agencies (AECI, Instituto Cervantes, National Library, among others), plus the City of Madrid and the House of America.

About 40 spaces (museums, palaces and gardens of National Heritage, among others) opened its doors to all citizens, there are concerts of military music, classical and modern activities are held playful and informative exhibitions and film screenings or documentaries, with free access.
