On the morning of Saturday, May 7, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain arrived at the Juan Santamaria Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica to begin his official visit to the Central American country.
The purpose of His Majesty’s visit is to strengthen ties between Spain and Costa Rica as well as to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Republic of Costa Rica’s newly elected president, His Excellency Rodrigo Alberto de Jesús Chaves Robles.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
On the afternoon of Monday, March 28, 2022, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain hosted a luncheon in honor of the President of the Republic of Costa Rica, His Excellency President Carlos Alvarado Quesada and First Lady Claudia Dobles, at Palacio Real de Madrid.
President Quesada and the First Lady are on a two-day official visit that aims to strengthen ties between Spain and Costa Rica, especially in the sectors of tourism investment, business, decarbonization, and the promotion of the “…green economy…”
Earlier in the day, His Majesty held a meeting with President Quesada along with various Spanish and Costa Rican government representatives, including the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, at Palacio de La Zarzuela.
