On the evening of Monday, June 27, 2022, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended a gala state dinner at Schloss Belvedere in Wien (Vienna), Austria. The glittering gala state dinner was hosted by the Federal President of Austria, His Excellency Alexander Van der Bellen, and First Lady Doris Schmidauer.
Tonight’s setting at Schloss Belvedere has a current cultural connection to the Netherlands. Last February, the Schloss Belvedere Museum opened the exhibition entitled, Klimt: Inspired by Rodin, Van Gogh, Matisse, in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The exhibition explores the connection between the paintings of Gustav Klimt and the works of other artists of his time, such as Vincent Van Gogh.
Tomorrow, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will visit the integration project in the Wien’s Favoriten district. Thereafter, they will visit a community cooking kitchen, meet with Ukrainian refugees, and tour the new Sonnwendviertel housing project near Vienna’s central train station.
Their Majesties are also scheduled to visit the National Library and hold a meeting with the Austrian Chancellor, His Excellency Karl Nehammer. Tuesday evening, Their Majesties are scheduled to attend a gala concert at the Konzerthaus with a performance by the Dutch Chamber Choir.
On Monday, June 27, 2022, His Royal Highness Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg held an audience with the directors of the “Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office” (LTIO) of Abu Dhabi, New York, Casablanca, Tel Aviv, Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, and San Francisco, meeting for the first time since 2018.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of the Economy, the LTIO’s mission is to support the development of Luxembourg companies abroad. They also promote the Grand Duchy as a privileged location for companies from the countries concerned wishing to invest and/or set up in Europe.
The discussions focused on the June 27 to 29 meetings organized in the presence of Luxembourg’s economic partners to define the orientations of the LTIOs in the short and medium-term taking into account the current international context.

On Monday, June 27, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark welcomed two student journalists, Marinella and Theodor, from the newspaper, Børneavisen, at Christian IXs Slot at Amalienborg in Copenhagen.
The interview is being held on the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II’s Golden Jubilee which will be marked by several major events in September.
According to the Danish royal court, the students asked about Her Majesty’s “…leisure interests and what the role of the Queen entails.” Prior to the interview, the student journalists received various questions from readers of the Børneavisens newspaper. One question that made Her Majesty chuckle was, “Do they [the royal family] sometimes wear cozy clothes like the rest of us?”

On the morning of Monday, June 27, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain warmly welcomed the First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, to Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid.
First Lady Dr. Biden and the President of the United States, His Excellency Joseph R. Biden, are in Spain to attend the NATO Summit beginning on June 29 – 30, 2022 at the IFEMA Fairgrounds in Madrid.
After a brief photo-op for the press, Her Majesty and the First Lady held a private meeting in the palace.
In the afternoon, Her Majesty Queen Letizia and First Lady Dr. Biden visited the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer in Madrid.
During their visit, Her Majesty, as Honorary President of the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, and First Lady Dr. Biden, were informed about the services offered by the AECC for patients and relatives, which works to correct the inequities caused by Cancer and the effort to increase Cancer survival to 70% in 2030 through research.
On Monday, June 27, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of the Belgians held an audience with the Director-General of UNICEF, Ms. Catherine Russell at the Palais Royal in Brussels.

On Monday, June 27, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II accompanied Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex attended the Ceremony of the Keys held in the forecourt at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The Ceremony of the Keys marks the “… the beginning of Royal Week in Scotland, the monarch is symbolically offered the keys to the city by the Lord Provost. But, tradition dictates that she then returns them, entrusting their safekeeping to Edinburgh’s elected officials…” according to the BBC News.
