(VIDEO) His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain Attends the FLOTEX-22 Naval Exercise.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain attended the FLOTEX-22 Naval exercise, organized by the Spanish Navy, at the Rota Naval Base in Rota, Cadiz, Spain.

The FLOTEX-22 exercise is an event that demonstrates the level of capacity and professionalism of the power of the Spanish Navy. Moreover, FLOTEX-22 strengthens the preparedness in crisis response operations in order to train naval tasks such as maritime power projection, sea control & maritime security awareness.

Upon his arrival at the Rota Naval Base, His Majesty was welcomed by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral General Antonio Martorell Lacave, and the Chief Admiral of the Cadiz Arsenal, Vice Admiral Ricardo Atanasio Hernández López.

After formal introductions, His Majesty entered the Aircraft Flotilla Command building (FLOAN) where he was given personal protection equipment and received a security briefing.

Soon, His Majesty arrived, via helicopter, at the amphibious aircraft carrier Juan Carlos I where he was received by the Admiral of the Spanish Fleet, Admiral Eugenio Díaz del Rio Jaudenes, and the Commander of the Juan Carlos I  ship, Vicente Rubio Bolívar.

After another briefing, His Majesty witnessed dozens of naval sea, air, and land exercises.
