In the town of Olofström in the municipality of Blekinge, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden celebrated National Day with the local people.

The day began with a visit to the Volvo Cars factory where they were informed about the daily ongoings of the famous Swedish car company and were given a tour of the factory.

Thereafter, Their Majesties visited Holje Park where they joined hundreds of people celebrating National Day. During the celebration, His Majesty handed over banners to the “…local associations and organizations…” and gave a speech in which he said:

“Sweden is a country with a rich history and a promising future. Let us take advantage of both, with common forces. And let us celebrate our country, our home in the world, today on Sweden’s national day!”

In the late afternoon, members of the Swedish royal family attended a gala concert and show in Skansen.
