On Monday, June 6, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain received Letters of Credence from newly appointed ambassadors to Spain held at the Palacio Real in Madrid.

The newly appointed ambassadors are the Ambassador from the Federal Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Orlando Leite Ribeiro, the Ambassador from Mexico, His Excellency Quirino Ordaz Coppel, the Ambassador from the Republic of Yemen, His Excellency Aws Abdullah Ahmed Alawd, the Ambassador from the Republic of Chile, His Excellency Javier Ignacio Velasco Villegas, the Ambassador from the Maldives, Her Excellency Farahanaz Faizal, and the Ambassador from Iceland, Her Excellency Unnur Orradóttir-Ramette.

The Letters of Credence are documents that certify a foreign ambassador as the representative and highest diplomatic authority of another country in Spain. The delivery ceremony before the Head of State dates back to the 18th century.
