On the afternoon of May 21, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark celebrated 50 years on the throne at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
Upon Her Majesty’s arrival at Tivoli’s main entrance, Her Majesty was welcomed by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Tom Knutzen and the CEO of Tivoli, Ms. Susanne Mørch Koch.
Soon, Her Majesty viewed an exhibition that displayed a selection of costumes, sketches, and illustrations that Her Majesty had designed for five different performances. Thereafter, Her Majesty visited the Pantomime Theater. Whilst there, Her Majesty watched a “…small summary of selected performances in which Her Majesty has been involved with…” according to the Danish royal court.
Later in the day, Her Majesty hopped on a roller coaster, planted a tree, and viewed a special anniversary cake consisting of chocolate sculptures, sugar sculptures, daisies, lemon pies, and cream buns. The cake is based on the performances that Her Majesty has been involved in at Tivoli.
This evening, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended a ballet performance at Tivoli’s Concert Hall in connection with the celebrations marking the 50th Jubilee of HM The Queen’s accession to the throne.
