HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Gives a High-Segment Speech at SPAMI Day 2022.

On Friday, May 20, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco gave a speech during the High-Segment at the 1st Edition of SPAMI Day: Together to Protect the Mediterranean Biodiversity held at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco in Monaco-Ville.

SPAMI Day, organized by the Specially Protected Areas Regional Activity Center, gathered stakeholders from eleven Mediterranean countries which have established the 39 SPAMIs and other key stakeholders, including SPAMI managers, representatives of national environmental administration and agencies, regional and international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and donors.

On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie of Monaco accompanied by her son, Mr. Louis Ducruet, presented the Insignia of the Corps of the Prince’s Carabinieri to ten students Carabinieri students of the Carabinieri Félicien Jaumary class, in the presence of Colonel Tony Varo, Senior Commander of the Public Force. The ceremony was held on the helicopter pad at the Caserne des Moneghetti in Monte-Carlo.

On May 16, the students took an oath to HSH The Sovereign Prince and the princely family of Monaco thus committing to serve them with “Honour, Fidelity, and Dedication” which is the motto of the Corps of the Prince’s Carabinieri.

HRH Princess Marie of Denmark Hosts a Network Reception in Paris.

On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark and the Danish Ambassador to France, His Excellency Mr. Michael Starbæk Christensen, hosted a network reception at the Danmarkshuset in Paris.

According to the Danish royal court, during yesterday’s reception the newly opened art exhibition entitled, Temps, Peintures et Nota Bene, by Danish artist, Mr. Jesper Christiansen, was on display for guests to enjoy as they mingled with each other. In other words, if the reception was boring they had something to talk about other than networking or work.

Anyway, the lovely Princess Marie has been the Special Culture Representative in the Culture Department at the Danish Embassy since October 1, 2021. The position is a new initiative to “…strengthen Danish culture and cooperation in France…” via a press release from the Danish royal court.

HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and HRH Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands Celebrate 500 Years of Dutch Farmers in Amager.

On the morning of Friday, May 20, 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands arrived on the island of Amager, whereupon she was warmly welcomed by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II od Denmark, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Dutch immigration in the town of Store Magleby in the Dragør municipality.

Five hundred years ago, King Christian II invited a number of Dutch farmers to the island of Amager, where they eventually settled in the town of Store Magleby. According to the Danish royal court, as the years passed the Dutch farmers developed a unique “…method of growing vegetables…” The products were eventually sold in the Amagertorv marketplace in Copenhagen to the citizens as well as supplying their products to the Danish royal court.

The day began with a reception at the Dragør Town Hall. Soon, Her Majesty The Queen and Princess Beatrix visited the Amager Museum where they were informed about the “…Dutch culture and customs [which are] is still apart of the local community, including the traditional Shrovetide riding.” Thereafter, Her Majesty and Princess Beatrix viewed another exhibition devoted to Dutch history on the island of Amager.

The day ended with a tour of the Seerupgaard Organic Farm. Whilst there, the longtime royal friends learned about the Dutch method of farming and much more.

On the morning of Friday, May 20, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain chaired the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Elcano Royal Institute for International and Strategic Studies held at the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Idelfonso in Segovia, Spain.

The Scientific Council is the advisory body of the Elcano Royal Institute, which advises the directors and researchers of the Institute with the aim of ensuring compliance with its founding principles, especially those related to research, the dissemination of the work carried out and the institution’s external relations.

The Scientific Council meets once a year, although its members meet regularly in working groups organized by specific areas, to prepare reports and studies as deemed appropriate. The Scientific Council is also responsible for the preparation of reports and studies.
