On May 18, 2022, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark met with the CEO of UN Women, Ms. Sima Sami Iskandar Bahous, in Copenhagen.
According to the Danish royal court, Ms. Bahous informed Crown Princess Mary of the:
“…status orientation on the fulfillment of the UN’s world goal number five, which is about gender equality. Gender equality is being challenged by climate change, pandemics, hunger, and food shortages, and UN Women is working to integrate gender equality broadly into development cooperation agendas.
Also present at the reception were director of the UN Women Nordic Office Caroline Rusten, planning and coordination specialist at the UN Women Executive Office Sarah Brun, office manager at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marianne Kress, and the Crown Princess’ private secretary, court lady Henriette Ellermann-Kingombe.”
