On the morning of Monday, May 16, 2022, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark made a surprise visit to Campus Bornholm in Bornholm, Denmark. The purpose of the visit was to cheer on hundreds of students who are participating in the One Mile Campus pre-Royal Run.
“Exercise provides oxygen to body and brain, so you remember the exam material better and are clearer…” that’s the purpose and overall message from the One Mile Campus pre-Royal Run.
According to the Danish television network, TV2 Bornholm, today’s fun run also:
“…marked the start of the holidays for the students. [The One Mile Campus run hopes to] strengthen the students’ desire for physical activity and promote the community around exercise among the young people on Campus Bornholm. It is the ambition that the students will discover the benefits of putting digital devices aside and go offline for the benefit of physical activity during their holiday.
The One Mile Campus route is on trails and bike paths around the entire Campus, and students are sent off in groups, where they are invited to run or walk as many laps (one miles) as possible – without time calculation – until the event ends at 3:45 P.M.
The 2022 Royal Run will take place on June 6 in the cities of Aalborg, Aarhus, Kolding, Næstved, København/Frederiksberg and Bornholm.
