On Monday, May 16, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the semi-finals of the Concours Reine Elisabeth (Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition) held at the Flagey Cultural Venue in Brussels.

According to the Belgian royal court, 24 semi-finalists first performed a “…concerto by Joseph Haydn with the Orchester Royal de Chambre de Wallonie and then held a recital accompanied by a pianist…”
