(VIDEO) Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Re-opens the ARTIS-Groote Museum.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 10, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands officially re-opened the gates of the ARTIS-Groote Museum in Amsterdam. The museum was closed to the public for seventy-five years.

During, today’s opening Her Majesty was given a tour of the museum and met with the museum’s curators, archivists, museum technicians, and conservators who have contributed to the Groote Museum.

The ARTIS-Groote Museum is:

“…about the connection between humans and all life on Earth; it is about the connection between humans, animals, plants, microbes, and Earth itself. The aim of the interactive museum is to allow visitors to look at their surroundings and the world through different eyes.”
